First and foremost, I posted here to ask about other people's experiances overseas in buisness. Many majors are straight forward, in that when you graduate you know exactly what fields you are capable of working in; however, buisness is a little different. While I can do my own research, I thought that perhaps asking about other people's experiances here might give me an idea of what to look for.
Realy, I am trying to avoid conflict. While certian things in my post may have been spelled incorrectly, I did try to compose it tactfully so that a situation like what has just occured would not happen. The topic of this thread has been shifted from what I had originaly posted to something that is completely irrelivant. If you wish to share your experiances then please do so--links to interesting websites would also be nice; however, if you wish to attack me then please do so in a private message. I promise I will read it, be thoroughly upset, distraught or what ever you wish me to be and it won't lead this discussion astray.
Elizabeth: I apologise if you felt that I was implying that my time was worth more than yours. While there were a few things implied that was not one of them. What was implied was that it would be better if we did not waste our time argueing about spelling mistakes. I do not have a spell check and I do not feel like paying $300 for a copy of microsoft office. I have looked for freeware, but I have yet to find anything I can use. I am one of those people who reads by image so spelling does not bother me so much. Through viewing the image and reading the context that a word is in I can usualy understand what that word is so even if the word is completely unfamiliar it does not throw me off, but unintentionaly I tend to assume that everyone else reads that way as well.
I have deflected enough attacks already and I hope that my reservation signals the end of them; however I would like to thank Glenn for speaking on my behalf. Now that I have said my part I would like to take this discussion in a more positive direction.
These are some of the things I would like to know:
Has anyone ever taught english in japan? Believe it or not, english is actualy one of my strong points and I have heard that one possibility for me would be to teach buisness english.
Does anyone work in a buisness field that they enjoy? If so then what about it is enjoyable?
If a person were to work at a company in the US and another person with the same position were to work in Japan would they make more or less taking into consideration the cost of living. How hard would it be to get that position?
Has anyone had to travel for work on a regular basis? What's it like? Is it fun?
(While I am trying to specify, as you can see I do not even know enough to do that which is why I am asking, hoping that some one will talk about something that I like find interesting.)
Of course if anyone has any thing they would like to add that I have not asked about please post it provided it's not about my spelling. In that case just assume that I don't care and if you could also assume that you don't care as well that would be great too(j/k).
