Is Miyavi replacing god of music Gackt?

Haha prince! Really shameless, beautiful and funny prince! :D So what about Gackt? He should be the prince also so they would be equal :p

hmmmmmm, well....i really don't think that either of them are "gods" of music, and i really don't think that either of them will replace the other.
Gackt is of course very hot and a very talented singer/performer, and i admit to loving him insanely. I believe Gackt will still surprise us with something, for all we know in a few years he could come out with a rock album that is crazier then rebirth...
Then there is Miyavi who is also a very hot and very talented performer, but he is still growing i don't think that we have seen the best of Miyavi yet. Miyavi, as i have noticed, has really attracted a younger audience because he is young himself, he has not been out there long enough to grow that wide range of fans as gackt has done.

But i believe that the true god of music is Mana, he created a new form of music in Japan, it was him that got Gackt where he is now, and (i know some of you may disagree) but i believe that Mana and his "projects" inspired Miyavi along with many more newer bands all thru asia. Mana is JRock.

Michael Jackson is the king.. THE KING OF POP!!!!! I like him too, but I just hate what he did to himself.. ha had issues, but was a creative master of music. I do not get him involved into this.

Hmm... i've thought about all this god of music thing. I think everyone has a different god of music, depends on what kind of music does he like the most.

I see it this way. Although Mana is a revolutionary in the music industry (there is no denying that) Gackt on the other hand is more then that. Mana has a very narrow style that he sticks to and I respect that however that style is not one that is conducive to the title "God of Music"--"God of His Style" maybe but not music in general. I think Gackt is more a Jack of All Trades (and Master of Many) giving him wide range in more then just fan base but sound and style as well. Just look at his Diabolos Tour, very different from his previous work (in my opinion). This is also why I don't think Miyavi can replace Gackt. Miyavi (like Mana) has a specific style, although that style envelops many things it is still one style.

yes....i agree, Mana may not be god of all music, but he is the god/goddess of his style, and i love him for that ^^

indeed, a beautiful elegant goddess of his style
well, see in my mind when somebody says Jrock...the first thing i think of is Mana....i guess i just associate him with JRock, but my mind is too complex to analyze, so i would perfer not to try and figure out my reasonings for everything ^^

gackt the god of music oO .... NO
dont get me wrong i like gackt, and his music but not a god...

gackt once said in an interview about the diablos album something like
that he tries too take a different lane than his previous album...
so that he keeps satisfi... differnt kind of people.
like first there was the mars album =rock
then came the love letter album=ballad
and now diablos album=rock

so it makes everybody happy ^^

I never thought about that, but that's a good point you make here. I just wonder... what will be his next album like? Heavy metal? :D jk

Miyavi hasn't really found his style yet i think, so he may surprise us. We already know gackt can do anything so something amazing from him is expected.
We should say they are god's of J-rock because there are other talented preformers in this world who could match Gackt on pure skill and Miyavi on pure insanity (and mana on pure control freakishness).

Gackt is not the God of Music, I would say Yoshiki is a God of Music the man is a genious. Mana is a true Goddess, but I won't say that he is of all music, just as many others has said his style. I agree with Coo Quack Cluck that Miyavi hasn't found his style yet, I mean he really hasn't found his niche and is experimenting trying to figure himself out(I really hope that dancing Miyavi is a phase although the a$$hole dance is too cute). But you have to think of this as Gods/Goddess of Music in the East. If you go Western or even world wide standards I would have to go with others such as:

Micheal Jackson - You might not like his lifestyle or his looks but his music is genious.
Elvis - I personally think he is overrated. But you can't deny that he really, really was the person to bring Black Rock N Roll into mainstream (White) America.
The Beatles: Everything I could say has already been said.
Madonna: Because of Madonna we now have the endless trash known as Pop Music. But you still can't deny that she is a Queen (Unless you are gay  then she and Cher are the Goddess's whose everymove you worship )

i don't really think that there ould be a god/goddess of music that everyone could agree on, i mean everyone has different style and opinions...so it is just hopeless trying to decide who is THE god/goddess of music....
for all we know this person may not even be born yet......

True, who is to say who truely is a god or goddess. There are so many talented people out there right on the streets who just never got a chance to be in the lime light. In the end it really is the opinion of the listener. We all have our own tastes. But thats ok, it makes music more fun.

More Gods:

Carlos Santana: One of the greatest Guitar players of all time.
Stevie Wonder: Come on, you gotta love stevie!
Kiss: Made a new era, and even infulenced the Visual Kei we all know and love!

Haha, Oh God NO!! Gackt is Gackt, there is no one like him (for better and for worse hehe) and Miyavi is just...Miyavi... have to say though that Miyavi is prettier.
Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against Miyavi but I do prefer Gackt.

Well, I wasn't considering anybody outside asia... but besied MJ, I think they're more like Revolutioners of music, not much of gods. But do you notice? It is as hard to make a call into King/queen of music... Queen really, we already agreed into MJ = king of pop.
