Is 3 months enough to travel from tokyo to kyoto by foot?

I am traveling to japan and going from Tokyo to Kyoto by foot and or hitchhiking does anyone think that can be done in 3 months?

Yes, Japan isn't that big.
It's around 10 hours by car I think.
Google maps says it can take 6 hours but I'm not sure if it's reliable.
You could do it in a few weeks.

I think you could do it blindfolded and going backwards on a pogo stick in three months.

You could do it in a day or two if you got the right person to pick you up. See Hokkaido Highway Blues, by Will Ferguson (hitched from Kyushu to Hokkaido) or read The Roads to Sata, by Alan Booth (walked the length of Japan).

You could easily get there in less than a month on foot... its only 250 miles or so.

Mike, did you read that book written back in the late 80s or early 90s about that guy who walked the Tokaido? I keep thinking the title was "My Tokaido Journey" or something like that. It was a fascinating book, full of great encounters -- with many of them being Japanese who couldn't believe what he was doing.
