Hello Everyone,

I want to know how I.T (Information Technology) field and the market is in japan.

I am a current I.T Pro and interested in going to Japan to work.

What are the requirements and how is I.T in there?

Cheers,
Dudegeek

I can't give you much other then what I have read in the past but a lot of IT work seems to be contracted out to IT companies. A lot of them are based in Tokyo and run by and staffed by mostly Indian IT workers. I have heard that it can be fairly grueling work with a lot of pressure to get as many certifications as possible and that the pay is not always the best. I think you can find some IT jobs working for a company but they are probably going to require pretty high level Japanese language ability and may be difficult to find.

I am also in IT and have looked in the past but not had much luck as I was looking to live in the Kansai area as that is where my wife's parents live. I was also a little put off by stories I have heard about working for one of those IT contractor / consulting companies, though I myself have never worked in one so I can't say for sure what its like.

This probably doesn't help a lot but maybe you will find if of some use. :-)
