I have photos of my time in Japan but no location names. I lived in Yokohama from 1948-1950. I have no recollection as I was 1-3 years old. My father was US Army. My grandparents were stationed there also. Any help identifying would be appreciated.

If you have a Facebook account , I believe there is a page/site there for Yokohama. I'll bet someone there will know. I was stationed south of there at Hakata Base and I have about 500 pictures with no info also. Maybe someone here lives in the area and will recognize the locations. Give it a day or two and you might get lucky.

Do you have any idea where he was stationed specifically?

I wonder if you have more photos, especially of the coastline? I have tried to find out about the island in your second shot, but it's neither Sarushima (Yokosuka) nor Enoshima.

It's a long shot, but I wonder if the building in the background is the Kanagawa Prefectural Government Building 🤔

Great find, definitely some resemblance.

It might not be an island. It could be a point or cape. Assuming the pic was taken in the afternoon, the man's shadow gives you some idea of coastline orientation. So it could be a location similar to this. But I don't think it's here unless they totally reshaped the landscape.
