I request help in translating an elementary school book...

I am a beginner in the study of Japanese (I study it by myself), and currently I am trying to read a fourth grade elementary school book of science (小学四年理科 教科書).

I originally considered to put my doubts in the long thread about help in "translation of words and phrases"... but the fact is that I will come over and over in the following weeks with several inter-related doubts.

(Still, the moderators could move the contents there if they so fit, and no hard feelings )
To be honest, I just humbly request to be helped in some aspects of vocabulary and grammar in - for me - somehow obscure passages of the book.

For example:

(In the first chapter, dealing with the growth of potatoes and other vegetables)

とくに, くぼみが水につけると芽がのびやすい.
Is "nobiyasui" -> 延び(る) + 安い / 易い , or something entirely different?

That's 伸び易い "to be easier to grow."

Wouldn't it be a typo of くぼみが水につかると or くぼみを水につけると?

けんびんきょう で 見ると, 白くだえんけいで, 貝殼のようにすじはいったつぶに 見える.


Some lexical doubts:

えつきばり .
(I think that is a special kind of niddle, use in laboratories... Does it has a Kanji representation?)

かばあがらす
(It is a special glass you put over a sample in the microscope... Does it has a Kanji representation?)

せつがんれんす
Same... it think it is a lens of the microscope, and I wonder if it has kanji.

The part in red refers to the "juice" of potato--the thing you're trying to look at.

No kanji, but yes katakana. カバーガラス or "cover glass".

せつがんれんす=せつがんれんず（接眼レンズ）
When posting words in hiragana, I think you need to check your typos in order to avoid confusion. Although this typo was not difficult to detect, there may be cases in which words/phrases in hiragana and out of context have multiple possibilities in interpretation.
