how is this read and what does it mean?

穆罕默德

in Chinese it is read as Muhammad....
i want to know what each kanji alone means and what it all means together...and how is it read in Japanese...

please help, thanks ....

and may i please get help for this..
Muhammed may be read in Japanese as mu-ha-me-do.......mu-ha-ma-do....mo-ha-me-do....mo-ha-ma-do
as for the "do" in the end it can be changed with any of these syllables DI-DO-DU
i don't want to write my name in katakna or hiragna..
what kanjis can i use to write my name??
and what meaning would it have? ( i am hoping for something nice..and for professional help)

any way Muhammed means "praised" so what does it praised mean in Japanese and what kanji represents it?

Those kanji would be pronounced in Japanese
moku-kan-moku-toku, or maybe mokkan-moku-toku

They mean:
respectful, mild, beautiful
rare
silent
moral

There are no Japanese syllables pronounced di or du.

The above poster beat me to it... but here's what I came up with.

Well I'm no Kanji expert, but I'll try to help you out.

穆罕默德

I'm assuming that this could be read as:
もく・かん・もく・とく

And the chinese meanings:
穆【もく】 solemn
罕【かん】 rare
默【もく】 silent; write from memory
德／徳【とく】 virtue (doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong)

All of the above characters are pretty rare in Japanese. 德 and 徳 are considered to be the same character in Chinese too, but in China they tend to write the first one I'm assuming.

So my thoughts are that 穆罕默德 means "[He,] the rare and solemn one, who wrote virtue from memory".

and i never new that the kanjis had that much beautiful meaning in them

but may i still ask ...is there any kanji i can put together so it would sound like Muhammed? if so i would like to know..and their meaning too ..

The Japanese write Muhammed like so: マホメシト In romaji it's: Mohameshito. I got this info from the enamdic file. The closest you're going to get with real Japanese writing (without kanji) is probably: ムハメド In romaji: Muhamedo. Of course, the Japanese don't write it like that. So my guess is to go with Mohameshito, even though it doesn't sound at all like Muhammed. The next step is probably to use nanori (kanji readings for names) to swap for the kana. I must admit that I don't know Japanese (I just have some knowledge about the writing system itself), but this might start you off. By the way, it doesn't seem like a good idea to just use a kanji with the same meaning as your name, you really should use nanori if I'm correct.

messing around with the IME, I came up with this:
夢刃目処【む・は・め-ど】
Which really loosely could possibly mean...
aim to dream on the edge of a sword

for my name i just typed in kame-ron in the IME and out popped 亀論, which kinda means turtle theory, I like it, but I usually just stick to hiragana or katakana.

The characters were probably just chosen for their sounds.
It means "Muhammad", nothing else.

First of all, I want to apologize for spelling your name wrong! This is the reason why I came up with Mohameshito in the first place (I just hope I got the right dictionary entry for this). Second, I assumed names written in kanji only used kanji with one or more nanori readings, which is incorrect, as on- and kunyomi readings are also used. So I also apologize for writing down inaccurate information. Next time I'll do a little more research before posting.

Just for your information, Muhammad is written in Japanese as

ムハンマド

in katakana, not kanji.

There might possibly be kanji for it in Japanese, too, but they are not in common use today even if there are.
