How did/do you learn Japanese?

I'm not sure if this topic has been discussed here (but I can't seem to find one).

Anyway, I would be interested to know how people here came to learn, or are learning, Japanese.

このように話すことと聞くことを勉強しました。

でも、書き方がまだ分からないんだから、大学で日本語のクラスを取ります。
