How can I get a Master's Degree in Japan?

I am really interested in going to Japan and to study there. I havr read through a few threads but I could not find any definative answer. I wish to do my Masters in "Computer Science and Engineering in Japan".

I am interested in getting a scholarship through MEXT. But I'm still confused about the applicatipn process.

Do I have to go to Japan firsat as a Research Student to get admission into a university?

Can someone please give me the detailed steps as to how I can obtain a like MEXT, JASSO, etc. for a Masters course in Japan?

I googled "MEXT masters scholarship" and found a large number of what seem to be informative and authoritative (and some official) sites. I would rather get my information from such sources than relying on a method like hoping random strangers on a forum will provide me all the information and that it will be complete and correct. You have to go through those organizations anyway, so why not start your search for information there?
