I visited in the summer of '07 and it was the most amazing museum i've ever been to. It really changed my life to see what happened in Japan, because in the U.S. they are so self absorbed and don't care about anyone else that was effected. Truly moving.

Yeah, I also visited the Peace Memorial Park and Museum on my first visit to Hiroshima and it was a very sobering experience. It is amazing how well Hiroshima has recovered and is now such a beautiful and vibrant city with hardly any traces of the destruction of the past.

I've been there a few times as I used to live close to Hiroshima.
To be honest, I will always prefer Nagasaki! The city has been through the same destiny, also has an atomic bomb museum, but seriously ... Nagasaki has managed to overcome what happened and turned into a beautiful and interesting city.
If anybody has the chance to choose I'd rather go to Nagasaki.
Hiroshima Castle is also not so interesting compared to others.
However, Hiroshima is close to Miyajima and thus always worth visiting after all.
