Hello, I`m trying to understand something about the Japanese driving licence.
can anyone tell me what each line is?
And also where is date of birth
gender: male/female
expiry date
issue date
number of the licence
etc.

I'll dust mine off for a minute....

The upper left line is your name. The upper right is your date of birth. Mine is written in the Japanese calendar (Meiji, Taisho,Showa, Heisei, etc.). Beneath your name is your Honseki, which as a foreigner will be your country of citizenship. Below that is your address.
Next, outlined in green or blue or gold is the expiry date. For example, mine expires in Heisei 24, which is 2012. Under your expiry date are exemptions and restrictions.
