I'm a common Chinese girl, live in the coutryside of Jiangsu province. I've been learning English for several years, and now I began to learn Japanese, glad to find this forum and know a nice person--Frank. 👍
I don't know what are your impressions about China and Chinese people, hm, I'm very curious about that, and I'll try to tell you the China in my eyes if you had the interesting.

I believe that people all over the world are basically the same -- want to succeed in their ventures, provide for their children (if they have any), make good friends, etc. As for the country, I believe it has a rich history, and I would like to learn more about it. I was born in Jiangsu, in the city of Wuxi. :). Then I moved to Canada when I was two years old. I've been back to Jiangsu a couple of times. Beautiful place. It's where my mother's side of the family is from. (My father's side is from Yunnan.)

Hm, seems you know a lot about China, you even know the Ancient Wu, actually the Ancient Wu is just part of today's Jiangsu, that is the south area of Changjiang River in Jiangsu province, more accurately, I think, the area of Suzhou and Wuxi, do you know the two cities?

I once studied there for four years, some classmates stayed there since we graduated while I backed to my hometown--Nantong.

I only know what I know. But my passion often excceds my ability. I've been to Suzhou and Wuxi in 1992, I think. We started from Beijing, dropped by Jinan, climbed Taishan, continued on train southbound, and got on the Grand Canal all the way down to Suzhou, I think. We finally ended up in Shanghai, but I forgot what happened after that. 😊

My best part of the trip was between Jinan and before Shanghai. I liked the culture that hadn't been tainted by city life. I think this was in Wuxi, where we went to the silk factory. We really didn't spend that much time there, because of the short tour schedule. But I often use maps and references to the Chunqiu and Zhanguo period, and the competition between Wu, Yue, and Chu to seize the sea board region is quite interesting...Anyway, thanks for replying. We can talk more later.

I was in Wuxi too in 1992. :-) May be I'll go there again this year if my classmates hold a get-together.
I viewed some posts of yours, found you use the words"窶ｰﾃｯﾅｽﾃ停?懌??#31163;,窶ｹﾅｽﾅｽﾃ停?｢K窶敖ｽ", once my penpal (a Korean) wrote the same words in his letter, it made me sad a bit. I haven't had his message for a month, he's sick, I hope he's all right.

What's Youso shiritori ? I can't understand.
Well, Kanji is not a tedium, to me, it looks very familiar, I can guess its meaning just don't know its pronunciation.
