im an admin at home and i need to block someone one my network from acessing certain parts and windows on an xp computer. at school this is done and you can't even change the background(i don't need that much power but i do need to lock this person out of changing certain settings and such powers would be appreciated anyways). how do you adjust these settings?

nhm... I think in the administrative tools (from the control pannel) there were a few options. But once again I haven't been playing with XP for a while...

i've noticed that the network restriction modules in XP are pretty limited from what i've come across, so i'm guessing that your school, like mine, resorts to 3rd party software (non windows software). Probably costs a pretty penny. There might be something somewhere, but aside from limiting access to the network and a few network folders, i don't really think you can do much.

Sorry about the late posting but the question is who is that person ? I mean explain me more about your problem. You want that someone are not allow in your system or allowed but not able to change anything ? About your problem if you want to deny someone from your system through network . I tell you the way to close your system services. But the things more clear after your reply. :)
