私（わたし）は日本語（にほんご）を話（はな）せますが、書（か）けません。
I can speak Japanese but I cannot write it.

あなたは本当（ほんとう）にいい人（ひと）だと思（お も）いますが、恋人（こいびと）にはなれません。
I think you are a really nice person....but I can't be your girlfriend/boyfriend.

in these examples, you also may use けれど/けど instead of が.

ちょっとこんなことについてですが、失恋した時などは 普通「痛い」という言葉が使われるんですか。

失恋した時も含めて最近は色々な場面で「痛い」を使い ますね。特に若い人は。俺だったら失恋は「悲しい」と いう言葉を使いますね。

そうですね、「悲しい」という言葉をしばらく忘れたんです。そう言えば、「さびしい」と「さみしい」も使えますか。なんか英語話者の立場から考えると、「寂しい」はよく「ｓａｄ」のあるべきところで使われるから、「寂しい」と「悲しい」の使い方を混同してしまうことが多々ある気がします。

「痛い」って今は万能言葉ですね。とても範囲が広いで す。
「（失敗して）まずかったね」とか、「残念だったね」 とか。こういう使い方は今の流行ですので、いつかは廃 れるかもしれません。

もうひとつの万能言葉：「わけわかんね～」

「寂しい」は孤独、loneliness から来る sadness でしょうかね。ある場所が寂れた感じの時、たとえば、「人通りや店がなくて寂しい町」とか。 後は、何か物足りない時、たとえば、「ご飯と漬物だけかぁ.....今日の夕ご飯はなんだか寂しいな」とか、誰かがそこにいなくてちょっと悲しいとき、たとえば、学校で「今日はグレンが風邪で休みだから、なんだか寂しいね」とか。

そうですね、思えば納得がいきます。「もう会えなくて寂しいよ～」とかいう 発言を聞いたことがあるんですが、私は「もう会えなく て悲しいよ～」と言っただろうから、何かその言葉の意 味を勘違いしているらしいな～と思ったわけです。その 「寂しさ」を伴う「悲しさ」のことを思いつかなかった だけのことみたいですがね。

いつも通り、具体的な例文まで挙げてくれてありがとう ございます。勉強になりました。

thank you very much ..... が means but

now I understand because my teacher 五味先生

she puts message and she can't come ..........

she starts her message with すみませんが

and she explains why she didn't come ..
thank you very much for your help

That doesn't seem very nice. It does remind me, though, of the 小和井先生 in our lessons at 同志社 (as in a recurring character in the example sentences).

Actually I don't understand you exactly ...
I don't mention you ... I speak about my japanese teacher in my country
(五味先生） gomi is the name of our teacher in my country ......

I know that you weren't talking about me. I didn't think it was a serious name because it sounds like ごみ -- "trash." I wasn't aware of that surname, but it does remind me of the Mr. Schmuck who placed an order with the company I work for a few months ago. I wasn't aware that was an actual surname either. Anyway, I said it didn't seem nice because it sounds like "Prof. Trash" if you don't know what the characters are.

While "douzo" can sometimes be translated as "please", it does not have that meaning in "help me douzo".

"help me, onegaishimasu" の方が良いと思います。
