Hey all. I suppose I should introduce myself, since it seems to be what all the cool kids are doing.
My name is Jackie, I live in southern california, and I work at Starbucks (yay). I first got interested in Japanese stuuuuff shen I was quite young, having watched all the cheesy anime on TV at the time. As I grew up, my interest in Japan matured, and now I'm very into J-rock, though I still have a fondness for manga. ^_^
Currently I'm learning Japanese, though on my own. Certain circumstances kept me from being able to take a Japanese course at school, but since I really wanted to know the language, I decided to just do it myself. I've been studying for about two and a half months now, and I'm actually having a lot of fun, and I've surprised myself at how much I've been able to pick up all by myself.
I'm mostly here to pick up what I can about the language, so you'll probably see me in the Learning Japanese forum the most. ^^ I'm looking forward to all the indespensable knowledge you all will bestow upon me!! XD
