Hello to everyone at JREF! Obviously, I am a new member and decided to introduce myself instead of throwing myself into the fray all willy-nilly. Well, a little about me...I am 17, male, and reside in the U.S of A. I run cross-country and track and field. I only like a select few anime's, as I do not watch them just for the sake of watching them. Namely, they are: any Studio Ghibli film (Spirited Away is my fav), Akira, and Rurouni Kenshin. Yes, I'm sorry to say, I did have a Naruto period
for about a week. I'm also interested in Japanese movies. Some favorites are: Battle Royale, Seven
Samurai, Yojimbo, Shimotsuma Monogatari (lol), and Kikujiro (any Beat Takeshi actually). As my name suggests, I am what you call a "half-breed" (hehe). Mother's side; Japanese, Father's side; German-American or really any Eastern European country for that matter. I've visited Japan on several occasions, each two week stays. I went when I was a baby, at around 5 or 6 years old, 12, and most recently when I was 14. We (my family) went for vacation and to visit family in Japan. They live in Nara in the Kansai Region. Very beautiful place and I would most definitely like to go back, if not stay! Hoping to learn Japanese in college and become fluent (have done some limited learning on my own thanks to my mother). Basically, from this board I would like to meet new, interesting people and share my interest of Japan. Sorry if that was a long introduction! Thanks for reading!
