I've been studying up on the Japanese language for a few days, and while I know a little bit now, I think I could learn a lot more with a penpal.

But that's not the only reason I'm here. This forum looks pretty neat at the same time, so I think I'll give it a shot.

He was making a joke about Rockuman's name. In Japanese, rokuman is 60,000. Then he said that soon you would be up to 100,000, then 1,000,000, then 10,000,000, then 100,000,000.

Anyway, now that that's out of the way, welcome to the fora, Rockuman! I hope that you enjoy your stay and that you learn all that you could wish to learn!

Heh, well then. I suppose that means my nick-name will be 60,000. Rockuman is actually a name I made up based off of the pronunciation of Rockman, which is Megaman's name in Japanese, also my favorite video game character.

But, 60,000's cool too....... I guess...

Phonetically in Romaji, it would've been "Rokkuman".

Meh, I was already aware of that. Using a 'ck' in Rockuman allowed me to be able to say 'Rock you man'. It's a stupid joke that rules at the same time.

Ah, I'm studying it because I plan it being one of the places I want to take a trip to, and I want to know what the heck the characters in all those fighting games are saying.
