Hashikura temple lodging

Hi,
I am thinking of staying for one night at the Hashikura temple near Miyoshi. As their website is only in Japanese I was wondering if anyone knows whether english is spoken there, so that I can send my request in English. As far as I understood you have to book at least one week in advance.
My other option is staying at the Ikeda youth hostel - only problem ist that their telephone/fax doesn't seem to work :-(
