Im on doors to my school entrance ceremony (2 days far) and I would like nothing more than to wear a hakama or a kimono for the event, more a hakama acually . I have no chance buying one , but could anyone please tell me if you knew a place around Tokyo where I can maybe rent one for around 5000 en or less ... ?? I would really appreciate the cheapest bet . ...

Hi Suki!

Hope you've been OK! AND, my congratulations on the upcoming school entrance! 😎

Regarding hakama, your post makes me think that you believe wearing hakama is something different from wearing a kimono...

Actually, the hakama is worn OVER kimono (kosode-style). That means you'll need rental of an entire set, plus hakama. A lot of beauty parlors offer rentals of such clothes along with "kitsuke" (kimono/hakama dress-up) but not hakama only because it's not worn independently.

With the ceremony only two days away, the chances are small, but the best bet is to find a girl (who graduated college, etc.) who have such a set and borrow it free and get kitsuke done by a friend or at a beauty parlor for a fee.

Sorry I'm not much of a help... :sorry:
