Hi everyone,

when i was in japan last summer, i was introduced to great salads which were incredibly simple! but alas, i forgot how to make one of my favorite which is a gobo and carrot salad that was creamy! i think there is mayo in it and i'm sure its not the salad where the gobo is fried. Does anyone know what i'm talking about? its kind of like a gobo coleslaw. i've been trying to find the recipe everywhere but i havent been able to find it. i dont wanan bother my host families for the recipe so could anyone help me???!! thanks!

other salad ideas welcomed too!

If the gobo salad you ate looked more brown, sesami paste must be used.
*Other options I can think of
Julienned cucumber, grated garlic, mastard, grain mastard, wasabi, parboiled white chicken meat (sasami), sesami oil
You don't have to use everything. Try your own gobo salad.
Gobo goes well with chicken.
**photo gobo2 is the way how I usually cut gobo into julienne strips.
***Fried gobo chip is also nice. Deep-fry sliced gobo and sprinkle salt on them like potato chip.
