till you get so old you have to write notes to yourself all the time. You keep names and phone numbers on you at all times . When it gets real bad, a discription of your house and car so you can locate them during a "senior moment" of mind going blank. I will be talking to someone about my wife and all of a sudden can't remember her name?? I think dementia or Alzheimers is just around the bend like me, LOL!
That is an interesting discovery by the way, have to try it.

Have you seen the David Lynch film 'Lost Highway'?

There's a scene where Bill Pulman's character meets this really creepy man at a party. He asks BP's character to call his own home, and the creepy guy answers it - he is in BP's house at the same time!
It's impossible,but somehow really creepy - like a lot of Lynch films.

I haven't seen it, but Lynch is dead creepy (I just typed 'Lunch' then by mistake - I wonder what Freud would say?).

I have noticed though that I have to try hard to remember stuff these days. I have been working here for two years. When I first started I could remember someone's name after one meeting. Now I can meet somebody maybe 5 times before I remember. I read that your memory starts to decline in your 20s. You have hit the big 3-0 too Rich - how's your memory?

My memory's not bad.
When it lets me down I often blame some of my 'habits', but I'm sure age is a factor too. I'm pretty good with names. I went to Greece a couple of years ago and I could still remember the name of a waiter we knew from 3 years previously(and how to say it), 'Thanasi' - pronounced sort of 'Danasi'. He was pleased I remembered.
Some days I'm a total mash-head,though...

My memory's not bad.

Speaking of memory, I have to punch in 4 numbers when I get to work to disarm the alarm; in one morning, I was slightly hang-over, couldn't remember the last one, after several tries, the alarm finally went off which signaled the police that there was an armed robbery. In a few minutes,
policemen came to ask me what had happened.

I called the manager immediately to find out that they had changed my code without me knowing! I was swearing at the manager who thought it was funny over the phone.
But my point is, if I panic, I even forget something I do manually everyday.

If someone tells me something verbally at work, I sometimes later send myself an email (also to my work address! ) to remind me what it was...

Jeez I'm 'only' 26 and I always need to write stuff down to remember it! I mean, if I didn't have an appointments book, I'd never remember what I was doing 2 or 3 months ahead I don't know how people remember anything without them! :?

I heard a similar thing to CRAFT.

It's a way of calling someone a **** without them knowing;

'There We Are Then' - ****...........a useful way to get something off your chest without having a fight!

For example, there is one good thing about bad memory - you might forget that you owed money to someone. But there is also a bad side - what if you lended the money and forgot about this...

On the other hand, every new day can be just whole new life to live with new (old) wonderful discoveries and not so wonderful bumps

This happens to me too sometimes.
It is worse if other people are panicing as well. I sort of absorb it from them.
The senior lady at my job is often getting in a flap.
The other day I was busy doing a live studio feed to Tokyo and she was rushing in with other 'urgent' things for me to do.
It's very difficult to stay cool in these situations.

Well, a co-worker joking calls rampant forgetfulness "Alzheimer's Alerts". I'll admit to being absentminded at times, especially when I owe somebody money. Heh!
