ruu; you totally misunderstood me, what i meant by saying most of today's music is no good i didnt talk about just western bands, i was talkin about the bands today (in general). personally i am a huge fan of western bands like led zeppelin, the doors, pink floyd, and those are all bands from the 60's - 70's. and i feel sorry that i had to put western/japanese so many times in this post, cause it shouldnt matter where the music is from. we should judge music for what it is, nothing else.

Lola-chan~ Since when was good music about looks? "We all know" No, we don't. Perhaps looks are important to you, but don't come saying they are so for everyone. For all I care Ruki can continue dressing like a gay christmas tree, his voice is still fantastic, and that's what counts when you listen to the music, at least for me. I don't sit and think about what they look like, I listen to the music.

sadly people will call themselevs gaze fans and all they like is the looks of the members, sadly its love for the style of clothing, prettyness of the face, weight and hair basically whole personal appearance. As for me id still love ruki even if he shaved off his head and rolled in glitter. XD its his voice that amazes me.. its perfect to me. noone else can sing like that, its just the voice i can never get bored of and i could listen to the same song 2908498 times just because its so good

i hate the people who would abandon the gazette if they started to dress more casually. but that just shows their not true fans so its better off without them pfft also anoys me when people say ruki and all the others look ugly with no make up RUKI LOOKS FINE. looks like a normal guy. hes not ugly in no way.

i love before i decay, when i first lisetned to it loved it~ has a lot of emotion in it and songs like that make me feel a personal connection also the pv is amazinggggggggggg.

oh yeah that japanese mentaility is silly! i used to be more intersted in history and i mean like the the Edo period ~~ for some reason it never crossed my mind about music..i thought they only made jpop then when i found out about jrock i was really impressed. =]

As far as I remember, I didn't -.- I just say I love them as they were and as they are and I love them so much in this way and I don't want them to change. Ofc there were things I didn't like about them (for example, I hate Ruki's shoes) but I loved them and that's not going to change no matter what. Am I bad Gaze-fan just because I like Visual Kei more than casual style? Cuz if that's how you rate fandom, then you have a problem, not me.

Nothing is really wrong if they dress casual like the J Brothers just as long as they don't do like them ex. Singing cheesy love stuff ( to me Ruki's lyrics are more poetic ) and dancing single ladies in tight full body suits .

This made me laugh because the other day my friend and I were talking about how ridiculous it would be if Gazette decided to do a live like Arashi or TVXQ.


@ TakaWarumono: My friend is. I sent my application a couple of weeks ago, so I'm still waiting to get that confirmed. :] It can take up to 3-4 months, so be patient. However, if you know you made a mistake, I suppose you could pay someone to fill it out correctly for you? rawkstarr @ LJ helps you join for a total fee (including membership) of 7500 yen + paypal fees. That's about ￡52.

I think it's a bad tentency that people say that if you like them just for the looks, then you aren't a fan. Let's see the definition of the word 'fan' (in this context), shall we?

From my point of view, you can be a fan of just their looks if you like, or just their music. Or both. That's up to you.
I, personally, don't think it's cool to say you like a band because of the way they look and say you like the music, though. Then I would rather specify and say 'I like them because they look good'. It's a bit like people who like this and that band just because they're the new big thing and not necessarily because they like the music - it's fine, but it can get annoying for other people who really like the music. :B

#Lola - I don't have anything about you either and when I said we all care about their look it was in general, cuz the fact is that the big precent of their fanbase are actually girls who actually care about thir look. It does not mean that they don't care about music (a contrary). Also, it has nothing to do with anyone personal here or anywhere, and if you're not one of those I completely understend and even think it's a great thing if you don't care about their look at all.
And don't get me wrong. I didn't start to like them just cuz they look good. I didn't even see them when I heard their first songs. So, I wouldn't like anyone here to think that I'm just a fangirl, okay?

I don't think anyone on here thinks you started liking them because of their looks, and nobody's judging you. There's nothing wrong about being a fangirl either, though I must admit I find many fangirls' way of acting rather disturbing and tiresome (I hope you realise I in no way mean you).

Okay, second question - I don't draw fanarts since I really s*ck at art >.< But I do write fanfictions And guess what? None of my ff-s is yaoi (damn proud of it) -.-
Though I find yaoi ff-s and stuff interesting from time to time, I'm not really huge fan or smth. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's not and that's it.

@Rei - I never meant you when I said some fans abandon them in the last post. For the short period of time I have known you here . I know you aren't like that so I apologize.

@ Lola - Somewhere earlier on this thread there was a discussion about how GazettE wantedto turn like Arashi and Aoi and Uruha wanted to leave because of that. Honestly I wouldn't like it if they became like a Johnny's band or something so as I already am not a fan pop boybands.

Most I've ever done is just draw Silly God Disco chibis of them and put them in the notebooks of subjects I hate as a sort of encouragement( as silly as it sounds )
I like fanarts of them the most .I'm not a big fan of yaoi so I don't read fanfiction or doujins ( except Luc 's comics cause her ones are funny and cute ) but I do find some of the pairings interesting from time to time.

about the fic - yaoi question.. ive read some, but im not too much of a fan. i actually prefer the ones without any gayhappenings if i am to read fics, even though ive enjoyed reading a few of those too. XD about fanart, i love it because i think its awesome what people can create by painting, drawing, etc. especially luc.lam's fanart (?forgot her full username! sorry) where has she gone, anyway? havent seen her around here for quite a while.

about looks...I understand what property of reita wanted to say. I mean, looks is not so important....(i really like Deg in their VK days AND today), but if they were totally casual, something would go lost, a part of the special charm and I would be a little sad. You know, I never felt a desire to see any western bands , it was enough when I heard the voice and music, but I do want to SEE gazette, to multiply my pleasure, both visually and aural (but hey, I really really love metrosexual and androgynous men, of course i s just my taste )

OT:luclam didn´t go anywhere, at least she is active on lj. but I think she has a hella lot of work to school, and she is working on non-fanart drawings right now. Go check her out on lj! end of OT

to fanfics: hm, yes, I used to read yaoi fanfics (but I hated how Uruha was still made uke...x_x) but I don´t read anymore...hmm...
maybe because I started write fanfics myself. Heterofics with an OC (I know, many fangirls don´t like OC) and some angst (of course you are welcome to my livejournal and read and comment them!). Well, since I write ff I somehow can´t read yaoi ff. It´s just...somehow...got personal (I know I am talking nonsense now).
(and one little OT: talking about complicated rhythms and music...if you didn´t ever hear aphex twin, you don´t know what complicated music is )

Fanfic/fanart: I really like the Reita/Ruki pairing. I draw and write, but I haven't written much and I doubt I will. That's not my strength. You can find my drawings here, here and here. (Lol, I move around a lot). Sadly, I haven't been drawing much lately either... At least not finished what I've started on :/

I have. :] I saw them in Berlin, October 20th 2007. From what I remember it was quite fantastic, although I had a pretty bad experience with queuing there. I don't think I'll be going to another live there for a while, at least not unless I sleep outside the venue.
The concert itself was good, I remember my first thought being something like "God, their heads are huge!" when they came on stage (I'm sorry, I'm crap when it comes to live reports. I posted something in my dA journal, here, but it's not really good). I was standing about 5-7 metres away from stage, my line of sight between Reita and Ruki, so I had a good view and it was perfect for me since they are my favourites.
The thing that annoyed me the most was that the crowd never shut up when Ruki tried to say something. Oh, and I think they had some trouble with the equipment, because Aoi's solo in Nausea&Shudder sounded really off :/

I'm planning on seeing them in Budokan this summer (23rd & 24th of July), but that depends on getting tickets. I'm waiting now. :]

Femme fatale: Yeah I agree with Nina007 on this one. What's a discussion without disagreements? If there was any hostility, then it would be a full-blown argument going on in here instead. I haven't picked up on any. :]

Well, you know me. LOL But for everyone else, I draw fanart and write fan fiction. On the reading side: I'm very particular about fan fiction since I like men to be portrayed as men, not twelve year old girls. I also like a story line that is not reminiscent of a porno, or a flimsy plot that allows for an insane number of explicit scenes to bulk it up. I hate most band member/OC fics because they're usually self-inserts which I find horribly creepy. I like Reita/Ruki the most. :]

olosta: I cannot stand the way Uruha is portrayed in most fan fiction. People always make him act like a little girl or they make him an alcoholic, or both. It's astounding when you find a depiction of Uruha that is neither. LOL

Yes! I saw them live in London in 2007 and I can honestly say that it was absolutely outstanding.

There were some terrifying fangirls around me while I waited in line (this was perhaps the only bad part), the crowd sang along throughout, we sang happy birthday to Kai and Ruki got a water bottle stuck on a lighting fixture and it was still stuck there weeks later according to people that attended a concert afterwards. They played brilliantly and the overall experience of the live was fantastic.

Lola-chan and I have discussed this in the past and we both reached the conclusion that they all have gigantic skulls, it's unbelievable when you see the band for real. When they walked out on stage for the first time, that was the first thing I thought.

Oh and apparently they got a parking ticket from London police to top off their stay in England. Haha!

I really do think he needs to practice his guitar more. He has to continue to grow as a musician and although there's only so much one can do with chords or with a guitar in that matter he should strive to make himself better because if he stays the way he is now, their songs won't change, they won't grow musically. now before anyone critisizes my opinion, really think about it. don't be baises just think about it as a musician or a producer would.

well, I tried to portray him in my fanfics as I see him and most people said they like how I depicted him...true, he drinks as well in one of my fanfics, but I didn´t make an alcoholic from him, it served purely the plot! xD (I mean, it is a fact that he drinks, so I think it is normal when it is mentioned in fanfics, totally ignoring it wold be another extreme...though I agree, it is stupid to make an alcohol addict from him)
