RE: smoking - Smoking is fine for those who want to do it (though I can think of a lot of quicker, less painful ways to kill myself), and I admit that I sometimes have a puff of a cigarette if I'm having a drink or whatever (those are the times I wonder if my asthma is completely gone). BUT...singers put a lot of strain on their voice anyway, especially if they scream and adding the effects of smoking is just disastrous. Smoking may help relieve stress in the here and now but later on in life things become really difficult. My grandfather had been clean for
eighteen years (he quit when my mam got pregnant with me) and he has emphysema, has suffered burst veins in his lungs, I think he had to have part of a lung removed when he was younger and he was diagnosed with cancer of the larynx last year (which he has hopefully recovered from).
But quitting IS difficult and I applaud Ruki for trying. I'm more worried about Ruki than the other members. Though smoking sometimes makes people sound better. And at least his voice is still good, as we can hear in Chizuru (*faints*). I watched that song live, too, and the vocals were the same. Amazing.

heard Nightwish's lyrics? Heh, I think Ruki (and Yoshiki) might be the Japanese Tuomas. The men are all geniuses!
That song brought tears to my eyes before I even knew what he was singing about, lol.
Does anyone have the translation of Regret? That song has a cheerful beat but it sounds so sad...I want to know what it's about.
I think I'm just in love with Stacked Rubbish now, lol. It keeps growing on me more and more (when I already liked it!). There are some awesome songs on there and it's real emotional in a way. Some songs give me fuzzies.
I really can't wait until October now, lol (tickets are on sale at 9am next Monday...I'll set my alarm clock, lol).
@BayMannen Smoking affects
everything. It starves the brain (and other organs) of oxygen, too. And ruins your lips, teeth and fingers. Not Ruki's lips! lmao. I think every cigarette you smoke is supposed to take about 8 minutes off your life. Which makes me wonder how long my grandad's original lifespan was because he's 82/83 this year (I don't even know his age
) and doesn't seem to be going anywhere fast.
@hara Kei I'm always listening for the bassline on Gazette songs. Again, it's that 'something special', lol. He's like the Alexi Laiho of the bass world (though I admit Hyde's live playing made me shiver, so he kind of beats Alexi. But Alexi is freaking awesome). Or like the Jukka Nevalainen of the bass world. Though a lot of people have said that Jukka's the best drummer they've heard so he actually might be the best drummer in the world, lol.
