Okay, so I was just in Tokyo, and I'll tell you who I DID see...or who I think aI saw. I'm 87% sure it was him.
Ruki. In Harajuku.
Let's examine the facts:
1) We know he likes to shop. Harajuku = best place to shop. Designer clothing, goth, trendy, it's got it all.
2) He was wearing the sunglasses and had the same hair as this photoshoot, which is his most recent one:
3) He was wearing a beanie--we know he likes hats, and it's a good disguise. He was wearing sunglasses on a cloudy day. Definitely in disguise.
4)He was dressed down in clothes similar to what he has described as his streetclothes. Although he was wearing dark blue jeans and navy blue rather than black. But whatever. It's dark.
5) He was the right height. I'm very familiar with his height since he and my mom are basically exacvtly the same height.
6) I couldn't see his mouth (if I had, I would know for sure if it was him. *_*) because he was holding osmething to his mouth. But on that hand, his right one, was one of his famous skull rings, you know the ones by Harugin? Those rings are $200 and more. In a culture that is constantly spending money on designer shoes, brand name handbags and clothes (and I'm talking about the goth/lolita people too--they won't buy the cheap stuff, they shell our $300 for the Atelier Pierrot and Moi Meme de Moitie dresses/skirts, and they spend hundreds of dollars on h.NAOTO's lines--everything is RIDICULOUSLY pricey over there)--but anyway, in this brand name madness, there's not a lot of money left to buy expensive jewelry. That, and I never once saw anyone else--girl or boy--wearing one of those rings. And I saw a lot of goth/rock/punk/metal/visual people. Boys--and girls. More girls than boys, though. So. Ruki's ring it is.
7) PSC is based in Tokyo, so it stands to reason that everyone affiliated with the label lives in/around Tokyo as well. Therefore, it is totally possible that Ruki, who is not on tour, could be shopping on a Saturday.
And what does Iris do? Iris sees the ring (since, hello, large chunky ring, and she's on the lookout for VK boys), goes, hey, that's the same ring Ruki has, keeps walking, pauses after 2 seconds, puts together the facts in her head, turns around. AND HE HAS DISAPPEARED. Not really, but since he was short, and wearing a hat, he melted into the crowd. I was totally going to ask him "Sumimasen, ringu wa doko [word for buy--having a brain fart] ka?" And then he'd answer and I'd be like AHA! It IS you! (identification by voice) OMG! *dies* and that would be the end of that. Stupid short people, being all speedy and stealthy. And stupid Iris for being too slow! *cries*
So was it really Ruki? The world will never know. And I'll be tortured by the question until i die. Or until something more exciting happens.
But there you go. My one good story from the Japan trip. Except for the VK show I went to. But that's not Gazette so I won't talk about it. XD
