Rightio. I've now got the address of my host family in Fukuoka but I'm having difficulty finding out exactly where in Fukuoka it is. I will be arriving at Hakata station and I was wondering if getting a taxi from there to this address will be prohibitively expensive or if I should get another form of transport at least part way there.

Can anyone point me to a map that shows where this address is or give advice on this? Much appreciated.

Okay thank you. I would have edited it down myself originall but I honestly didn't know which bits of the numbers meant what and what was important.

You should be able to just click the Edit Post button at the bottom right of your post, beside the Quote button. I've bookmarked the appropriate maps for my use, thanks again.

btw. do you know any japanese? I did homestay in Fukuoka too and I actually found my familiy's building, but didn't know it was that one... My family lived in an area where there was practically nothing except appartement buildings... so I went and asked someone (the police station was emtpy so I went into the next "official" looking building and was lucky ^^) and they were really nice, called some people and finally found out where I belong and a young woman literally took be by the hand and brought me there... so you might wanna think about HOW to ask someone, because as far as my experience goes, only few people know english well enough to communicate... ^^; but even really bad japanese will help you through
