First time in Japan

Soon I'll start looking places in Japan to go to.It's the first time I'll go and I suppose the fist place I'll go to is Tokyo. What cities do you recomend me apart from Tokyo? And when is there good weather in Japan? When is it summer there? I'd love to go to the beach

It depends how long you intend to stay there and what you are interested in .
Tokyo is definitively the place to be for a first trip. There are SO MANY things to see there. Just try to not stick to touristic places.
Of course Kyoto is great to see. If you want to visit a maximum of things there, you should count on 4 days.
Other places not far from Kyoto are Nara and Osaka.
But of course there are much more to see in Japan ne

Yokohama is a nice place!! (especially if you are in the nearby area; Tokyo) There are lots to see, and it is beautiful around the harbour, many sights, China town, and nightlife is good!!
Kamakura to see the big buddha statue.
Osaka - take a stop with the shinkanzen and explore the great city and friendly people and eat....Osaka UDON!!! :gohan:
Kyoto - just beautiful - and a must for tourists!!
Shirahama (near Wakayama)- white sandy beach!! ah....just relax and get a tan!!
