Hello,

I am not sure where this goes but this seems like the most appropriate section.

I was born in Iwakuni in 1988 to a Japanese national.
I was quickly put up for adoption and have lived in the US ever since.

I still have my Japanese Birth Certificate and a translation of it. It includes the name of my birth mother and location of where I was born, everything.

How would I go about finding her?

I know it is not a very good idea and could turn out badly, but I just want to meet her and a 10 minute conversation would satisfy my longing and lift this off my mind.

Is "Hotta" a common surname?

Thank you for any help.

Yes, Hotta is a common Japanese family name.

Your thread has been moved to People Search.

Thank you.

Her name is Chiaki Hotta, if that helps the search.
