Hi!

A friend of mine has moved to Tokyo three years ago. I lost contact to him and would like to find him. Are there any homepages in Japan like myspace or fakebook where you can contact students/people etc???

About fakebooks, I don't know, but there are MSN spaces, and goo spaces ,and jp.cyworld.com- all for bloggers.But the chances to find your friend there are minimal, so I suggest the offiicial way (embassies, city office or the newspaper ads).People are helpful in Japan.

I think he meant "facebook," another site like myspace. Mixi is popular in Japan, but like all other personal pages, you need to register, and unless you know the name or e-mail address your friend would use to sign up for such a site, it's pretty much pointless to try looking.

I echo the "official" approach. How about contacting his family?

I've got no idea what he's doing! But (because he's as old as me) he should be going to university...
