I love everything Japanese. I'm slowly learning the language and culture.

I have like-minded roomates, and we live in Lexington, KY which is strongly influenced by Japanese buisiness.

I recently was fortunate enough to see Utada Hikaru's first American performance in NYC. I won the contest after I had gotten my orders to go to Iraq, so it helped the news!

I'm hoping for a long visit to Japan when I get back, it'd definately something to look forward to!

My only problem is I'm a shy person, and most of the Japanese women are too, , I'm hoping I'll be more outgoing when I get back.

Sorry about the danger you're about to face, thanks for being brave enough to support our country. You should have plenty of access to PC's over there , keep in touch with JREF so we know you're safe. You should check into getting leave & using military flights to get to Japan. Glad you found the Forum, you can make some good friends here!

Thank you for your service to our country. I wish you all the best. I don't know which branch of the military you're in, but would it be possible to request to be transferred to a base in Japan after your tour of duty is completed, if you're still interested in going? You could kill two birds with one stone. But I know the military doesn't work like a company.

Like Frank said, keep in touch with the forum. And don't be discouraged by the negative stereotypes and generalizations about the Japanese you see here, as well as the negativity toward the American miltary.

Welcome to the fora, hoffa55! So, we have yet another member in the military. One of our old regulars, playaa, is in the Navy and I think he just finished training in Pensacola.
