To tell the truth, I even feel the European Union want Belgium to keep on existing after all. Not all people know this but if Belgium eventually breaks up, there would be 3 new countries: Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels (Brussels is a region just like Flanders and Wallonia. They have both dutch and french as official language). These 3 new countries will have to 'subscribe' themself into the European Union again which is always time-consuming. I think the European Union feels like this is a waste of time after all.

I fully agree with you, please stay one country for Belgium is the Heart of the European Union.
Remember, that Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg were the very first countries of that union, we were the Benelux countries, and we did very well.
One thing is also true, we mustn't get bigger in such a short time, that will hurt us all.
We must let countries as Bulgaria an Polen slowly get themselves feel at home in our European Union, that takes time. We don't always have to agree, but we also try to come towards each other.
centrajapan I hope that one day also wonderful Norway will join the European Union, you are great people and you have a great country. Countries like Norway would be a big acquisition for all Eurpeans. Your country has much to be proud off.
Ah well I love the south Europeans for their happy go lucky way of living, and I admire the north Europeans way of living in lot of space between the woods and the fjords.
The Netherlands has over 16 million inhabitants, I believe you only have 5 million?
