We are a 4+ year-old group with many veteran fansubbers, including myself with over three years and ongoing under my belt. We are not a popular or known group like [gg] when it comes to subbing, but that's to be expected due to the fact that we subtitle anime no one does or anime that gets neglected even though they are 10 times more popular (in terms of download count) than anime which air today! (Apart from Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, etc). We have even gained much reputation by being mentioned in NPC Comic's Geek Tragedy podcast #28, which you can download from the iTunes store.

The following anime that we are currently doing are listed below. Animes with an asterisk beside it are in need of a capable "translation checker" (essentially a competent translator that can check the translation of someones work and fix or correct things that are wrong). So, if you think you can help out, please fill out the form above! A test will be given to inexperienced translators, so we know your skill level. You can pick any one (1) or multiple anime which you are interested in.

*AIKa: ZERO (last two episodes need translation check)
*DELTORA QUEST (only have 1 translator on this and she needs assistance because it's a long anime)
*Himawari!! (only need the last three episodes translation checked, and perhaps QC the first ten episodes; translate bonus live-action video that came with the R2DVD, which I own)
*Konnichiha Anne ~Before Green Gables~ (we have all of the episodes translated, just need a competent translation checker that is willing to QC as well; based on the famous Canadian authored novels Before Green Gables and Anne of Green Gables)
*VIPER'S CREED (translation check of the last 10 episodes)

P.P.S. Do you know about the infamous web site, Tokyotosho.info? Know the admin, Edward_K? Met him IRL? I, alchemist11, happen to be the only male fansubber that has met him in IRL.

How do you feel about illegally distributing the work of somebody else's tears and sweat? Why do you disrespect the artists, directors, and voice talent so much?

I pay my respects to them by happily buying the R2 DVD via imports, so I don't feel ashamed. Furthermore, if you look at the animes mentioned above, the creators get plenty of money considering the fact that I sub these anime at a very slow pace and MUCH after it has finished airing, so impact on sales are zero.

AIKa: This series has its own perverted fan base who purchase the goods when they can. So subbing it does nothing to the sales.

Deltora Quest: This was sponsored by many non-Japanese companies, and is currently being aired (dubs) in Australia by Cartoon Network while the US will be in the near future. Additionally, the anime ended years ago.

Himawari!!: I actually purchased this. My contributions went to the distributor who purchased it from the studio that made it.

Konnchiwa Anne ~Before Green Gables~ :: I live in Canada and I know very well, the Japanese community here and the Canadian government have a lot of money to support these productions. Two or three provinces as well as Air Canada provided money for the support of this anime.

VIPER's CREED < Another anime where subbing it does nothing to the sales. It did not even get a Blu-ray release, otherwise I would have considered purchasing it, even though the Japanese airings itself didn't get great ratings.

I should also mention that, none of the animes mentioned above are available for purchase (with English subs) here. They are not licensed and likely will never be licensed (save for Deltora). As for dubs? I hate them. Most of the time they are **** (incorrect) and don't make any sense. For instance, the dub of the Air Gear Special which came with the DVD was horribly done. Kazu's girlfriend voice actor was terrible with her role. Made me want to punch her.

And my goal in subbing leads to that, to work on anime which are old, have finished airing and are not licensed. Anime whose creators may have died and nowadays just fading to dust, but I want to revive them and make people remember the good ol'days. For example, another anime I'm working on is called Yoiko, it's from the late 90's and is only available on VHS for purchase today, though impossible to get a new copy. It may or may not have aired on TV because it has nudity (boobs). Compare this with the Sekirei airings which are censored today. Yoiko is the anime for which I received support by NPC Comic's Geek Tragedy.

In my opinion, Yoiko is one of the best animes out there. It's funny, it defined comedy in present day anime and unlike the usual day to day kids anime that air on TV, it is unique because it's in kansai. Kansai dialect animes are very rare. The last one I saw was Lovely Complex which aired three years ago. The only anime which comes close would probably be Detective Conan where two characters (not main though) speak it.

So you think that because you buy 1 single copy of the DVD that it negates the affect of the hundreds or thousands of illegal copies that circulate because of your disrespect for the creator and the law? If you think you are a gift to the anime world, why don't you try producing your own stuff? Or actually pay for the license to localize and distribute it? You're like a kid walking into a candy store and buying one Hershey's bar when you have pocketed 10. And for some strange reason, you think you are doing Hershey's a favor.
