Hey guys,
I'm going to Osaka.. well, next wednesday, and I'm just wondering about how frequently english is used in Japan. I've been told english is practically non existant, but how hard would it be to get set up with the internet in my flat? To buy a cell phone and get a phone plan? To get a haircut or ask if they have things in my size in department stores? Should I learn the japanese for these tasks or is there a fairly easier way to get it done?

You'll probably eventually manage to get everything done, but you're going to イライラ yourself and 迷惑 everybody else in the process.

mr cash, why are you always not helpful but post in every thread like you try to be?

I think most of all Osaka people can not speak english. 😌
But you can get a friend easily because there are a lot of foreigner who can speak english. I think you can get more exact information and help from your new friends. 😌

I don't know it is easy or not, but I think you can get a cell phone and phone easily.

Don't mind in department stores. There is a clerk who can speak English. But you should show the picture that your taste for hair style in barber shop. 😌

If you hang out in "American Mura" in Osaka, you can find lots of english speakers! The Apple Store in Shinasaibashi employees some foreigners too so they could help you out if you have any issues.

I answered the question accurately and succinctly. What's your problem with it?

how was that an answer you just stated that things will get done, it wasnt helpful to gord and you didnt answer his question, all you did was post your jackass two bits.

Well, you can get by with English, but things will be FAR more pleasant for you and others if you start learning some basic Japanese. It may be difficult to become fluent, but it's pretty easy to tackle basic conversation. Good luck!

Gord asked

And I told him that he would be able to get everything done eventually...which he will. I presume that must have put his mind at ease, since Gord didn't get his *** on his shoulders about it.

So, you see, I did answer his question, and I did help him by alleviating a concern. I'm scanning the thread to try to find where Josh O'Criticism posted anything that more closely resembled a helpful, informative, or comforting answer than I did. Can't seem to find it. Wanna point it out to me, jackass?

In fact, I've just been browsing through your posts, and I can't find a single one where you've done yourself what you demand of me. I'm a butthole much of the time, hell....most of the time, but I'll stack my genuinely informative and helpful post total against yours any day of the week. And I only have to come up with one.
