The Japanese Fonzie

Eyyyy! 👍

But I don't think he's giving a thumbs up...I think he's pointing at the people behind him and saying: "I'm so much cooler than these jerks!"

It just looks...normal to me. I guess because I'm used to Japanese people doing doing hand gestures in front of the camera. I mean, isn't that a given? Especially a peace sign or thumbs up.

I thought the "peace" sign was the "victory" sign to them.

Whatever. I say peace sign, you say victory sign. You know, tomato/tomato thing. What matters is that you get my point. :p

well that is the peace sign, but is the japanese fault they mean victory by it. If ur gonna use a sign, mean the right thing. What if they start using the middle finger for hello :D ?

Their problem

What I think is funny is people making fun of some poor guy's vacation pictures...especially when I've done numerous variations of those poses countless times, here and abroad.

Heheheh, tough luck, u're askin for it if do a weird doulbe fonzie sign while tryin to go to the bathroom on dock thingy

Not so much funny as ... hmm, ... interesting.
I wonder, if King has actually permission to publish/publicize the pic. Here in Germany it is prohibited to do that without consent of those people who are on it (AFAIK).

That's right, but I think this relates primarily to print media. Dunno if it's also valid for the internet...

Publicize? I got it from another site, it already has been publicized. I highly doubt I'll be having the FBI knocking on my door for it.

Oh well, then it would be a question of copyright (which is probably even stricter in the US, don't know about Canada). :p

Anyway, it's not quite the FBI which would come for you. 1st you'd probably get an "Abmahnung" (~dissuasion) by some dubious "Abmahn"-club, which you would have to pay for nevertheless. If you don't pay & don't remove the pic you may get into more serious legal trouble, but that would take a long time & since your whole homepage would have been removed by then, the judge most probably would stop proceedings & tell you: "Baaad boy! Don't do it again!"

It's not copyright to the site. The site I found it on probably found it on another site, which on found it another site, which on found it another site, which could have been posted by someone in the picture. I don't know. I just know I'm not worried about it. Heh.
