With much acclaim from the press, China eclipsed the Japanese GDP this year. But that is only in nominal $ terms. If real valuation of the U.S. $ were used, China has almost the same GDP as the U.S.! And a GDP per capita just below Brazil.
However, most people don't realize how diverse China is and how the economy is distributed. China is more diverse than the European Community and has just as much, if not more problems. So neighboring countries should try to understand more about the country before criticizing every little thing it does.
