Duel Jewel

hahahaah... wow... ive heard of them... but ive never seen them or heard their songs... sorry but can someone upload a song so i can hear wat they sound like?? they look REALLY hot too btw =) i like the one with the red hair =D hes hot hahaha

edit: ... sorry hahhaha i didnt see that one link u put up =P haha they sound nice!

The music is pretty good, and the vocals sound somewhat like Gara from Merry but not as raspy. It always seems like the vocals ruin it for a lot of Jrock bands (at least for me) so it was nice to find another band that I enjoy listening too! Plus it was nice they had an album and song called Noah, cause that's my favorite cats name hahaha! Erica has a few of their songs on her computer, so she can upload some for you I'm sure. Upload Paranoid Trash Erica! that song makes me rock out! whooo! They are supposed to be really cool guys, and they play the US a lot and can speak english, which makes things so much better! I am hoping they will tour the US in the summer. We will have to wait and see.

I'll give you some songs to sample from each of their releases.

1st album - Lapidary

REDBEASTwo korose!

2nd mini album - Noah

Binar[crow]

Paranoid Trash

1st maxi single - Vermilion

Shoku

Newest maxi single - the Birth

Trust

The one with red hair is the guitarist, Shun, and he was the one who formed the band. He also composes all of the music and half of the lyrics (the singer Hayato writes the rest). I love Shun's hair!

Yeah, Shun is my favorite. He has beautiful hair, and he is so talented! Thanks for uploading those (even though I will be networking to your computer in a minute to get all the new songs you have since my computer crashed) but you know, for other people, because we need more Duel Jewel fans!

OMG... words cant describe how thankful i am to both u poison and norm =) thank you soo much... haha the songs are sooo nice =) hahah yumm shun is soo hot =) i WANT his hair =) and him of course =D haha thanks again!

Hmmm, thanks for the music. The only music I've heard from them was a live performance video that a girl gave me a long time ago (sorry, I don't have it anymore). It was really good too, but I forgot all about it. The girl LOVES Duel Jewel though, she follows them around the country whenever they tour here (remind you of someone, lol). I wouldn't be surprised if they came back to the US sometime this year since they're having that release coming out soon. *goes to listen to songs*

Edited to Add: I just listened to the songs and I like them! I think I'll order their new release.

You might want to wait and see if they have it at Megacon! That way you won't have to pay for shipping charges and you might own it sooner since sometimes when you order online it takes forever to arrive.

Hayato has a lovely voice. Vocals are the main thing that ruin most bands for me, especially among Jrock. I was so glad that his voice matched his face haha. Then I was worried the music wouldn't be any good, but it is as well. I'm wondering what the new album will sound like, one of the songs off of it is so darn catchy.

I just wish I heard them sooner, so I could have caught them the million times they came to the States lol. I'm sure they'll be back, though! From what I've seen and heard they seem like really fun and friendly guys. Instead of the hundred times I voted for MUCC on the Jhouserock poll I should have been voting for them j/k haha. You guys should read this girl's report of one of the conventions they played at. It's really cute and has lots of pictures. Written report and photos.

That's what I meant by "order it", just get it at Megacon.
Okay, that girl's report on DJ and the pictures and stuff makes me absolutely LOVE them. Now I have to see them live, they seem like so much fun! Forget Karyu, with his non-English speaking self, I'm all about Duel Jewel now ... j/k. Maybe they'll come back sometime after October 1st, so I can be 21! *crosses fingers*

Thanks a load for these songs! I didn't have anything by them, and I was curious but I had never got quite curious enough to find out .... 😌

I found this awesome new interview with Duel Jewel. They are so funny, I love when Shun laughs and slaps his knee haha it's great (so are Shun's arms!) Hayato's smile is the best.

An account of DuelJewel's Q&A session at AKON 13:

Q: What is everyone's favorite Japanese band? (The answers didn't need to be translatedツ―the audience understood when DJ said their answers ^_^)
Shun: Buck-Tick
Natsuki: Dir en Grey
Yuya: X-Japan
Hayato: Sex Machine Guns
Val: Siam Shade

Q: Since this is your first performance in America, do you think we're all freaks and perverts? (This question was obviously inspired by the fact that the people at con's all tend to be avid and zealous fans and they cosplay, etc.)
A: (Presented by Hayato, earning a laugh from his band mates and from the audience) We're more perverted than you.

Q: Val, why isn't your hair curly anymore?
A: The other members didn't think it looked very Visual Kei, so I straightened it.

Q: Do any of the members like anime, and if so, what series?
A: (Collectively stated) Evangelion

Q: Can we be your Geisha? *Giggle*
A: We already have some Geisha.

Q: Were there any culture shocks? (There were multiple questions to this effect)
A: (Paraphrased by me) Not really. The main difference is that instruments and equipment are much cheaper here.

Q: (For Hayato) Do you do anything in particular to warm-up/take care of your voice?
A: Not really. I just try to sing from my heart. (He said this during the concert, in English--"This song is from the heart.")

Q: Did you have any problems in our society?
A: (Paraphrased by me) One time they tried to order three steaks to share between the five of them, and they ended up with three steaks each. XD

Q: Was their music affected by any particular American band?
A: Slipknot

Q: Have you toured with any American bands? If not, what bands would you like to tour with?
A: The general concensus was that they would like to tour with Slipknot. Shun said he'd like to tour with the Backstreet Boys.

Q: What message do you want to convey to listeners with your music?
A: (Shun answered) Nothing in particular. We want to basically move people, touching something in their heart/soul.

Q: Are you looking forward to the World Cup being held in Japan?
A: (Shun, a soccer fan) Yes!

Q: Why do you use ESP guitars? Is it because you are backed by ESP or is it a personal preference?
A: (Shun) ESP guitars are good, and they are suitable for all types of musical styles.

Q: What did you think of your audience's response last night?
A: (I don't remember exactly what was said, but basically, they appreciated us ^_^)

Q: Do you have any questions for the audience?
DJ: Q: What did you think of our performance?
A: Audience: ^o^ *Screamed and clapped*

Q: How did Natsuki end up in the band? (Kanon was the bassist on Lapidary; then he left the band and Natsuki joined and became the newest member.)
A: (Natsuki) I was in a band that broke up, and I knew Shun, so that's how I had the opportunity to join Duel Jewel.

Q: Natsuki, was it difficult being in a new band?
A: At first it was different and kind of difficult, but I've adjusted by now.

Q: Did you recognize any of the cosplayers you saw, and which ones did you like?
A: Mana from Malice Mizer, Kyo from Dir en Grey... We recognized most of what we saw.

Q: What did you do in your spare time here?
A: We didn't really have any spare time. (At this time, around 5, Duel Jewel had not even had lunch T_T)

Q: Would you come back again?
A: Yes (It sounds like they plan on coming back again)

Q: (Asked in Japanese and then English; one person before this tried to ask in Japanese and they were not understood; but this question the band seemed to understand, although the translator still translated the English to Japanese for them just in case.) How old were the band members when they got interested in music?
A: (By Shun) I can't really say what age because I've been intersted in music for all of my life.

(And this was not in the Q&A, but Hayato told Helayne that American hair spray is really sticky.)

For those of you who don't like to read, here are some photos of Hayato from AKON 14:

Thankyou for the interview! 🙏
haha... Slipknot and the Backstreet Boys... :giggle: *tries to imagine the tour* XDD
aw I haven't had time to listen to those songs yet :( but I look forward to it! 😄

Thanks for the interview! :-) Shun wants to tour with Backstreet boys? 😲 He must be kidding!

HAHAHHA man shuns so hot =) i love his hair and his eyes =) yummy i wanna eat em.. HHAHA jk jk =) oOo that one blonde guy hayato i guess... has really iddy biddy eyes in that one clip u put up poison =) haha hes so cute =D

Their new song is too catchy (but in a good way)! And of course they have to show the PV for it twice in that interview! Since my sister and I can't stop listening to DJ I figured I would share a few more songs! Hopefully this will recruit more fans and they will buy their new album, and if those fans are from the US then they might be more likely to tour here again (although I know for a fact that a tour has to be in the works right now due to insider info and I'm beyond ecstatic)!

They have the most amazing guitar solos and some really fun bass lines and keyboard parts. Hayato's voice is really quite lovely. Perhaps I should include a lighter "ballad" type song. My tastes lean towards heavier music, but I know a lot of people might prefer something softer.

the songs noah as i said many times before is sooooooo addicting :-)
*sings along* (is on the noah album)

Hayato singing changed a lot (in a good way i guess) trought the albums,
aspecially on there last album... i have to adjust to it a bit.
