Damn, this threat is really SICK!! is it a "Drummers?" or a "Models" topic?

First of all, Yoshiki really SUCKS as a drummer... he can be an amazing composer (no doubt about that) but playing drums, is like a 12 years old boy when he gets his new drum, he is so lame that even hide could play as "well" as he did. I don't know if I should post the reasons of why he's such a bad drummer, when I see things like "he has cute arms... wiiii :-) " as facts for a good drum player.

Hey, why don't you post pictures of Akira Jimbo?? he is the best drummer all over Japan... wait a minute... I remember that he is not cute for girls, so, he is a bad drummer...

Yukihiro?? he is even worse than Yoshiki!!! Sakura easily could give him some lessons about playing drums.

I think the only "model" you posted who has a kind of talent here is the guy from Kagerou, even Visual Kei has not a difficult music type, he makes "reasonable" and interesting tabs.

Damn it!!

Hi and welcome to the forum... you have nice day.

Also can you please include your definition of 'SICK' because in my eyes your intent is to offend... I know crazy I would ever think such a horrible nasty thing. Shame on me.

whew. You're exactly like my brother. Are you a drummer too? Even... ARE you my brother? Just wondering...

First of all. Yoshiki does not suck as a drummer. He's not the best drummer in the world, nor did he claim to be. He does his stuff. Just because he's not doing jazz or fusion does not mean he's worthless. Sometimes it's not about how damn technical you can be on whatever instrument you play, it's more about liking what you do. Apparently, Yoshiki likes what he's doing, and apparently he's doing good. Also, he IS pretty, so why does it piss you off if we say he is? If I can give someone credit cause they're good looking, I will! 😄

Akira Jimbo is awesome. But he's not exactly.. and I think he'd agree himself... jrock/jpop (see forum name) .. he's a wonderkid and really amazing. he's damn technical ... (ever saw when he played on those electric drums, adding base and other instruments to his playing? that was awesome!) Akira Jimbo isn't very good looking. But we never claimed he's a bad drummer. He's just not being discussed here. Mostly because he's not the sort of jrock we discuss. Akira is the sort of dude you listen to if you're a drummer yourself and really wanna admire/learn something.

It's true one shouldn't only focus on looks.. but one shouldn't hate peope because they DO have looks either. You calling them "models" (in a bad way) is just stupid. They're musicians, that's what they are. Because they love what they're doing.

Welcome to forum! 🙂

Is sick because as a drummer is dissapointing to see that some people just care about how they look, even though some of them make an extraordinary job, as Shinya of Luna Sea...

But I see now (and keep confirming, hahaha) that everywhere I go (japanese music forums) about the 90% of users likes only how an artist looks like, and their music go to a second place...

That's why I asked about the topic, if it is about drummers, or drummers that should be models, even though their ability consist on how good they look in a dress, or how big the drumset is, eventhough it is not such a factor to rate a drummer.

I'm having a nice day, are you?? :-) <--- hey, the smilies are ugly =P

Some of the drummers mentioned here just care more about how they look than how they play, and I don't blame them, that's the purpose of Visual Kei, and I don't really like this kind of "musicians"... what's the difference about Backstreet Boys and 80% of Visual Kei??

When this happens, you should ask yourself if they are making it because they really love music, love it to a point where it is relegated to a second place.

Yea... you are. Very rarely do we get that kind of reaction from girls.

Actually the majority of us regulars here like the music FIRST and see the looks as a added bonus... there's no shame in finding them attractive. My honest 100% true opinion is that I respect them and wouldn't dare touch them or let anyone else touch them for that matter. :D I only joke about it... yea so don't really believe anything I say unless I'm informing. I'm very sarcastic... just a warning. 😌

A Luna Sea fan... that's great. I never have anyone to talk about them with. 😌

We like the smilies...

It's a beautiful day. :p

but no one here ever rated a drummer because of his looks or the size of his....... DRUMKIT! (I was tempted to say something else... )

we ADMIRED their looks. And also their drumming. Because. We like their looks and their drumming.

Jrock IS very visual, especially Visual Kei. Not caring about the looks would be impossible, since that's a part of the whole.. thing. But just because a lot of people here care about the looks a lot, does not mean we're empty shells only caring about a pretty nose (..mm.. Miyavis nose... *slaps herself* ... ) ... we very much DO care about the music also. But being a technical messiah on the drums might not be what most of us are looking for. As I said before; as long as they love it and I like what I hear, I don't care wether Yoshiki or any other drummer discussed here uses a raw chicken for drumsticks and plays with his eyes closed or can't play at all. The music counts. Not the technical genious. But then off course.. actually being amazingly good at your intstrument is also amazing, and very impressive, and just adds to the whole feeling of music... *cough*(John Bonham is the greatest drummer)*cough*

How do you know they care more about their looks? You ever talked with them? They told you? Wow. That would be impressive.

Backtreet Boys cared also about their music... more than you'd think, I think. Although, they're really not my cup of tea... 😌

Agree agree! I'd say ALL of us on this forum love music FIRST hand. Looks is something we talk about, joke about, and... err.. act perverted about sometimes (NOT ME NOT ME!) but.. when it comes down to it, not me, and not pkk (she told you) and nor anyone else, I think, would really ever wanna do anything about their... talk. I know I for one wouldn't even dare MEET Miyavi. And I don't care. Cause I have his music and could go to his lives. I love what he does. That's how I feel. But it's fun joking about stuff like that. *god knows it is!* ...

Heh, let's see:

A quick fact: Yoshiki hasn't played drums since X Last Live... 1997?? 8 years from that... that just tell me how much he loved to play drums 👍 and I don't blame him at all... he loves to make music, eventhough his drumtabs weren't as good as the music he composed. I think he knows he isn't a good drummer, hahaha.

Someone in the first 2 pages said: "and how good Shinya is?, look at his drumkit, it is so huge!!!" and then I just registered to say "my true" in this forum, hehehe.

And a small question for you all: Do you know who were the first bands to "introduce" a visual style?? they even have such words as "Visual" in their names.

If you say you care about music to I believe it... thankfully, you are not like some j-fans I've discussed with, and I appreciate that (and respect too)

I know people from thirdstage (you should know who they are) that have told me that... thats why I said 80% of Visual is like that before... some "bands" are just taking a part of the $$$ that good Visual Bands or famous as Dir En Grey or Malice Mizer are making...

Some "amazing and creative" minds are just taking advantage of that to make the Visual Kei a "cheap style"... what does that mean?? like any other music style, hundreds of BAD bands, get together 5 cute boys with the minimum skills of music... this things that just make a music style transformated into a fashion.

You know lots of Visual bands, am I wrong about this??

Haha... yea. :p

I think were a good bunch here. No need to worry. :-)

The people are nice and we get a long well... kind of like family. We all help each other out. It's great place... I hope you make yourself at home. I've learned so much from this forum and I hope you learn a good share of info yourself. I'm addicted to this place.

I suppose on the surface we do look like crazy fangirls, huh? :?

But we really aren't *shaking head violently* ... crazy fangirls, that is! We aren't! *chewing on Miyavi pic* ...

No seriously, this forum is a great place. All I know I've learnt here (like how to kidnap a jrocker, or put Mai in a cage) Oh. Oh. Did I tell you I wasn't a crazy fangirl? :? Damn, I'm not being convincing, am I?

*slaps herself*

Seriously. For once. This is a great place to share your interests and especially to learn new things. People here always help, and really support one another. Also, we're not as shallow as we may seem.
I love this place.
...
*blushes at her own statement*
damn. Got too emotional. Gotta work on the whole cool-image... *walks away*

Actually 😌 No, I don't claim to know that many. I'm not an old veteran or anything. But this forum (to which I declared my love) is helping, and new bands are getting introduced here almost everyday (almost)... off course, I get very into my favourites, but... I wanna learn about them all! :-)

No we aren't fangirls... crazy perhaps... but not fangirls. Fangirl is such a harsh word. We are music admirers here. Yea that sound better.

No... I don't know who actually introduced the visual style. That's another thing. We don't claim to know everything and admit to it. Wait... no there are some hardcore fans who lurk and think they know everything and post as soon as they see people humbly asking for the truth about rumors. Other than those select few we know there's no possible way to know everything there is to know about jrock.

Yea... Visual Kei in a way is dying, but there are still some great VK bands with very unique music styles. :-) It's a shame though... it's getting to a point I honestly can't tell some bands apart. :(

I made the Visual question, so you can make a comparison about what was Visual in 1979 and what have some people done to it now... not to say that I know everything or sound like a god in this topics, sorry.

There was some bands like Visual Scandal and Murbas who just "glammed" the rock scene in Japan, but they only tried to make a complement about what they were playing (strong music) with a "powerful" image: you know, hairstyle and few make-up.... but I don't see it anymore (except from Dir En Grey) and maybe lots of new Visual bands don't know either why they are doing that; maybe because they are "visuals" but don't know what are they trying to express.

I'm sure I'll learn things here, and yes, you look like fangirls at the beginning, hahaha.

No... I never meant you were acting like you know everything. :sorry:

Interesting, but surely you mean Dir en Grey in their early works. They can hardly be called visual now. They are more erotic grotesque... or that's how I describe them. :?

Figures... I would think I was too if I were you.

I haven't seen DeG recently, but yes, in the beginning, they made that complement I'm talking about.

And well, I think we are offtopic now, hehehe.

Yoshiki sux ^^
