Hi,

I'm talking to a friend in Japan, and she's offered to send me something I mentioned.

I've said thank you, but how do I say "but please don't go to too much trouble for me."

We talk in very casual language.

Not 100% sure but something along the lines of 迷惑じゃなかったらお願い might work here.

Nekojita's phrase is fine, but the nuance would be that you are politely requesting it. Even if it is troublesome, your friend would feel obligated to send it.

あんまり迷惑をかけない限りで

Is a slightly more accurate phrasing to the feeling you want to express.

Rinilexさんは勉強のためというより実際に使うべき返事についての質問をされてると思いますよ。それに「面倒じゃない？」はある意味修辞的な疑問で、聞かれた方は間違いなく「ううん、全然」って返して、そのままその何かを送ってくれますから。

とにかく、人はスタイルがそれぞれ違っていろいろな翻 訳する方法もあると思います。ただ英語で言ったのは修 辞的な疑問ではなくて本気で迷惑をかけずにしたがって いるセリフだと思うし、もう少し詳しく聞きたかったで す。ありがとうございました。
