Does Monbukagakusho allow to transfer?

Hi everyone!

I applied for Monbukagakusho scholarship (Undergraduate) in summer, passed domestic selection and currently waiting for results. And while I am waiting I am studying in a local university. If I will be selected, can I transfer credits that I earned here to Japanese University?

No sorry, you'll have to start all over again. I'm also in campus while still waiting for the final selection *fingers crossed* but I'm willing to restart my course should I win the scholarship.

are you sure about it? it is very sad, I will be have to study for 6 years- a year in a local university, then a year studying Japanese and another 4 years to receive a degree( IF i pass, of course. Good luck to you too!

Well, I'm not entirely sure, it wouldn't hurt to try.. But what I know is that the Japanese education system is really closed and preservative; so they'd just not accept credits from elsewhere especially coz you are a MEXT scholar and they're spending a lot on you. For me, I've not been serious at all in my first year of study, so my grades aren't so good I won't bother trying.
