Connecting Vladivostok and Nanao Port takes 48 hours. The cheapest bed costs 105,000 JPY one way. If this becomes a regular service, it's expected to be the only direct regular route between Japan and Russia, including air routes, since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

I think this is what I remembered, so not a triangle, but still connecting the three:

It's been some years, but I may have heard of this connected to a round the world tour--after crossing Russia, then into korea, then Busan to Shimonoseki.

Apart from the steep fares and the political situation, Vladivostok is a place I'd love to visit.

Might be a few years...

Russia is very cheap to live in once you get out of Moscow. My friend lives in Volgograd Russia. He always tells me to come and visit. He said a lot of drunkards are on the streets there and I should fit in very well. LOL
