Digital camera recommendation

Great I just went to the 100 end store and I saw the one port a plug I didn't buy it because I actually was going to ask you about it and so maybe I have one already I'll double check but yeah we'll start with that before I can charge the battery and I'll put the SD card in there and go from there first and then see how I progress with that yeah thanks a lot I really appreciate it man I just go step by step there's only a few functions I'm really want to take notice about nasty time and date and how to take pictures and how to put the SD card take the SD card out put in the computer and see where the pictures actually go on my computer I'm actually thinking of taking my computer with me to Okinawa because I'm I'm probably I'm quite sure I'm going to be there for a long time so I think we got a computer would be just fine for me to bring along c

For future reference, the manual talks about SD cards on pages 28-34, and how to set the date/time on page 35.
Page 31 tells you how to insert the SD card. I'm guessing the picture will suffice.

It says that you should not change any of the file or directory names that the camera assigns.
Also, you will need to format the SD card before using it. The instructions for formatting the SD card are on page 34.

Sorry I dropped out earlier; it was my bedtime here in Boston.

It's like 9:30 at night I'm in a University Town in Yamaguchi a lot of activity downtown unbelievable . tomorrow I'll really take a look at the instructions I'll struggle along but formatting the SD card I have no idea what that's about.

you can format it when you connect it to a computer, but I've rarely had to do it. Cameras will usually create a DCIM folder to store images and maybe add a few other files or folders, I would just make sure you don't have a DCIM folder on there already (but even that might not have any negative effect on anything).

What is a DCIM folder?

Most likely the SD card is preformatted. Just plug it in and see if it works. Regarding charging, you should be able to plug the USB plug into your computer and charge that way until you get the wall plug.

I just got back now. Out all day no time to look at camera. sorry guys. tomorrow OK

I haven't had time to take a look at my camera I'm in Shimane prefecture now.
I'm doing some camping for a couple days then I'm going up to totori and meet some camping Friends we're going to have a big reunion friends I met like 3 years ago but I'll get together we're going to watch the fireworks and then I'll get some help from my friend on the camera right now I'm just down to one battery charger the other two I used up already so I don't really want to be on the telephone or whatever but here's some pictures some camping here for a couple days.

I don't know about the typhoon but I actually I should check into it but it's raining all day here today it's hot and muggy too.

It's Friday August 18th and I'm leaving shimoko taking the train up to Tottori. It's a 6-hour train ride.

Shimoko river
Looks pretty deep and actually goes out to the Sea

Shimoko station really countryside. No place to buy your ticket probably has a camera somewhere I don't see it off hand.

Sunset time.

Friday August 18th about 7:00 in the morning leaving the campsite and my rear luggage it wasn't very secure as I found out 10 minutes later have to buy a new rope actually I think they called spongy ropes.

Now I'm waiting at the train station for another another hour for 6 hour train ride.

Are you going to the dunes or have you already seen them?

This is my 3rd the time to Tottori. I have been to the sand dunes. I took an illegal picture of the camels. The people got mad at me. But they didn't do anything. Will do mountain camping today.

I've never been to tottori, I've heard there are camels but you aren't allowed to photograph them?

I think they are there solely for the purpose for taking pictures but the expectation is that you buy the pictures, not take your own.

Yep you're not allowed to take pictures of the camel without the paying for it but being a foreigner I didn't really get hassled or nothing other than some dirty eyes I just kind of acted dumb and walked away.

Well they started out at us a camera thread and it ended up being more of a cycling touring and camping thread so I'll continue just posting here about the camping a few prefectures.
