Both -GORO (ごろ) and -GURAI (ぐらい)are used to express approximation.

But -GORO is only used for a specific point in time, to express ideas like APPROXIMATELY, ABOUT, AROUND.
The word 頃 (koro, toro), which gets attached to other words as a suffix, has to do with TIME.

And while 頃 has to be used for a time, KURAI (くらい) or GURAI(ぐらい) can be used both for an approximate TIME PERIOD or other approximate QUANTITIES.

Let's see some examples and special expressions using GORO & KORO.
