I did the same when "Mirror" was released....everyone talked about it because they had downloaded it and I was offered mp3s from everywhere so it was hard to resist....but I succeeded and only listened to the songs when I got my own copy. Exciting feeling.^^

2. How did you first find out about D'espairsRay?
A friend asked me to go to a concert with her.

3. Who is your favorite band member and why?
Very difficult. Everyone is special in a way. Karyu the dedicated musician, Tsukasa the disciplined drummer that is a crazy weirdo when he's not drumming, Zero is a mystery with a nice stage presence and Hizumi is an awesome vocalist that has something shy yet mean about him.

4. What is your favorite D'espairsRay song?
Definitely Tatoeba kimi ga shinda ra.

5. What is your favorite album?
With only two albums, it's hard. I'll wait until there is a third one.

6. What is your favorite PV?
Squall because you can actually see something and it beautifully matches the lyrics and music.

7. What is your favorite photoshoot?
I prefer natural photos when they are at signings etc.

8. Have you ever seen them live?
Yes!

9. If so what which was the favorite of the lives and why?
The only one I went to :D

10. What is the craziest thing that you saw done at said lives?
By the band or by the fans? The band was normal. Some fans dressed up in a very strange visual way, smoked black cigarettes and were a bit exaggerated, they scared me. There were two girls next to me that headbanged the way Karyu does but THE WHOLE TIME. I wonder if they even really heard the music and saw anything. Another guy was jumping so high that his head almost hit the ceiling.

11. If you own D'espairsRay merchandise what do you own?
Nothing.

12. What is your favorite line from a D'espairsRay interview and why?
When Hizumi said that you can get a view of his very personal things if you only listen carefully enough and understand. And that he can only sing them in public because they are wrapped in poetic words. Something along these lines.

13. What is the most random fact you know about any one member?
Tsukasa doesn't like toilets in Germany, but I don't know the reason. :D

4 years

2. How did you first find out about D'espairsRay?
A German fan told me about them after she saw them live the first time they went to Germany, and just told me "You should listen to them!" so I said "okay 8D" ...4 years later... XD

3. Who is your favorite band member and why?
Hm, I tend to not like picking favorites; as kallima said they all have their own likeable qualities. However, if I HAD to pick I would say Tsukasa because I like good drummers, and also I like his art and I find his weirdness very entertaining. XD But again, I like them all.

4. What is your favorite D'espairsRay song?
Guh, too hard to pick...I'll say Garnet because it's the first song I ever heard and immediately had me hooked, and to me it's just like the "classic" D'espa song.

5. What is your favorite album?
Hard call because they're both very good, but I'd pick Mirror.

6. What is your favorite PV?
Squall- I think it has the best production quality of all their PVs and even if its visual elements are a bit cliche, I think they were done wonderfully nonetheless.

7. What is your favorite photoshoot?
Hm...I like the Rock on J! one...but most of the Mirror-era photoshoots that I've seen I find to be pretty spiffy as well.

8. Have you ever seen them live?
Yes, 4 times now.

9. If so what which was the favorite of the lives and why?
Hm...I guess, oddly enough, I really enjoyed the show at The Jewish Mother in Virginia Beach. It was the first time I saw them live so it kind of has that special-ness to it; plus, in such a small place, and being right up front, the atmosphere became really fun even though it wasn't the type of place that really fit the band to play at. They got to be much more interactive compared to a large venue kind of setting. And because I got to meet them before the show I guess XD;

10. What is the craziest thing that you saw done at said lives?
Hmmm, I don't know about "crazy" but they did some cool stuff at RTOC...like Karyu did his guitar-slam-down thing during songs like Desert, and at the end of the Milwaukee show Hizumi did this cool thing where, once they finished their set, he just said one last quick thing to the audience, dropped the mic very deliberately, and walked off stage. I was like 8D badass! lol

I like the part in Hizumi's Rock&Read interview when he says he knows how hard it can be to stay positive in life, but for those people, it is possible for people to change themselves for the better if they try. :3 I like it because the first time I read it I was feeling that way (erm, not positive) and what he said touched me so much I cried a little ^^;

13. What is the most random fact you know about any one member?
Uh...Karyu once received a box of tampons as a "gift" from a fan? Poor guy, that must have been weird XDDD

Yeah, I gave them little stylized pictures I drew of them back at the VA show XD;

I'd probably say hi and that I'm a big fan, they're awesome, and please keep on being awesome. XD Nothing more than that though or I'd feel like I was bugging them...

Well, they've already played at/around both places I've lived so. @_@; I'm very, VERY lucky. (VA Beach is 30 minutes from my hometown, and they played Minneapolis/ST Paul during RTOC)

17. What would you do if you magically had one of the members?
Ummmm...I guess I'd try to show them something cool where I live, like a local restaurant or venue or amusement park or something? *has no idea obviously XD *

hmm probably about 4 or so years

2. How did you first find out about D'espairsRay?
i think i just downloaded a random song from a rotation. it was grudge, and i put it on my ipod without thinking about it, and every time it came up i was just like... holy crap this band is amazing... but i kept forgetting to look for more. until of course i stumbled upon the name again like 5 times in one day comparing them to Dir en grey, which is my favorite band, but totally different from despa, so whatever, so then i was really motivated. then it was super difficult to find them because their name was so difficult to spell, HAHA. i was looking for an album on ebay for FOREVER but every Coll:set i found was like $80 x_x but i prevailed i guess. still dont have a copy of coll:set though XD

3. Who is your favorite band member and why?
hmm well i dont know their personalities as well as some of the people on here, since despa is a solidly music fandom for me, but i really admire hizumi for what i consider the most technically amazing vocals in a vk band XD also he just has this certain draw... and i tend to go for the vocalist, i guess. Zero is also up there for me, since he was so sweet to me at the meet & greets, and he was so into performing on stage. he just seems like an amazing, fun person.

4. What is your favorite D'espairsRay song?
this is really hard... i think since Mirror, it's been Hollow, but before that Grudge or Infection or Reddish-diva ver-, i think...

5. What is your favorite album?
hahaaaa i can't answer this! the 2 albums are like different color pallets... i guess ive been listening to Mirror more though.

i dont really know, though the ones with squall were pretty sick. i dunno, they always look really cool and artistic.

well, i loved JRR because they played HOLLOW and it was my first time seeing them live. but then both RTOC ones were funner to mosh to since i was so close to them and stuff, so i dunno.

well, at RTOC the vocalist of another band came out into the audience and fought with someone right next to me, but that had nothing to do with despa XD

Well it seems that it was announced by D'espa at one of their recent shows in Japan that there will be a new single in August! It's supposed to feature the song Kamikaze but there hasn't been any news of it officially posted on their site or anything yet, so don't bother looking for it just yet XD

I was just getting into Jrock and cruising for cool bands and their name kept coming up. So I listened to the Reddish PV and the rest is history(Oh yes I went there)... XD

Like pretty much everyone said I like them all! However I rotate which one is my favfav.. Currently it is Zero. :p

Argh this is so hard D: It changes alot (yes I am rather fickle) Currently it is Cocoon

Apparently according to my iTunes playcount I like Collset best but I blame shuffle for that. :-) I like them both equally :-)

I saw The World Outside the Cage and the Reddish PV DVD on ebay about a week ago and wanted them sooo bad but they went for like 200$ and upwards of 170$. o_o

Umm about 2 years I think.

I can't even remember! Think I just downloaded a random song because I'd heard people talking about them online...

Well I don't know their personalities, and musically I never tend to go for a favourite because without all of them the band wouldn't be the same, if that makes any sense... but if I had to go purely on looks alone it'd be Tsukasa.

Oh that's a hard one to choose... I don't know Mirror well enough yet to say if I have a fave off there, but overall so far Abel to Caine (although I like the Squall single...)

I haven't seen any of the recentest PVs but of the old ones I like Garnet the best.

Actually, I just found out a little while ago that it will be released on August 6th, in two versions, a regular for 1200 yen and a rather pricey CD+DVD version at 2500 yen. @_@ This can only mean that there's more than just a PV on the DVD, or that there's something else special about it because 2500 is ridiculous for an ordinary single...

*edit* as for finding this stuff out, well, I first read it on an lj community earlier, and after doing my own "sleuthing" HMV already has preorders available and JaME updated with the info just a small while ago. XD; Their OHP hasn't been updated yet, though...it's just a matter of poking around the right places.

Now I'm really curious about what will be on the DVD. It's seriously expensive and I tend not to buy this version if it's not something really special. So if that's the case, I'll go fot the regular version.

I ordered both the Ltd and Regular. ...Because I'm a fan girl. -_-'

CD Japan and their website says it has a TOC DVD on the Ltd edition with TRICKSTeR, Garnet, Screen, SIXTyooNINe, and fuyuu shita risou being played on it. (I only skimmed this page so sorry if I'm repeating something already said 0_0)

Also apparently BRILLIANT live as an MP3 is on the reg. edition.

Honestly I bought them both because I'm just a collector. :/ Plus I get two photocards and posters and stuff. :)

Of course! Well, I know they have a new album released planned for "some point in the future" because they've been blogging about it here and there. I can't waiiiit it's gonna be awesome! <3

And BRILLIANT wasn't that expensive, I think like £13 or something from CD Japan.. But I guess that's like $26 0_0 Argghhh love Cocoon so much! <3

OOH by the way, The World Outside The Cage has been appearing on eBay. It's like £53/$106. Honestly, it sounds like a lot but I've watched it six times in two days. I encourage anyone to buy it, rob a bank or bribe your parents.

Ahhhh whenever I watch Tsukasa skydiving I cringe because I think he's gonna get hurt even though I know he ends up okay -_-'
