Describing two activities

Hi there. I've just started learning how to describe two activities though the use of the te form. I'd really appreciate it if you could just let me know if my sentence is correct, so that I know I'm understanding it

Takeshi woke up and then ate.

" takeshi-San wa okite, tabemashita."
