Hey guys,
tough decision here. I'm in japan (and have been for 3 months) and the money has just about run dry. I can stay in Japan up until April, but finding a job right now is impossible. I'm in Osaka and there's not much in the way of teaching, I'm too young for much else, and I'm working on my japanese but I'm not anywhere close to being skilled yet. Should I just see as much of Japan as I can until April, and then go home happy? This way I will be able to see the sakura, go home and join a band that I really like that happens to be holding out for a few months for me to join as a bass player, I can pick up my old job at the tv station, and get ready for the upcoming school year and decide where my life is going. Or, do I use the next few months so search night and day for a job, find a job and stay in japan for a few more months? (maximum is august, I think) - I really love japan, but going back home would bring too many good opporunities that would disapear if I stayed any longer. This is too hard of a decision and I'm hoping to get both views from you guys, I know alot of you live in Japan and alot of you dont, so the input would be greatly appreciated.

AAAH!

Stay until April, go home, restart your career, save money, and come back and visit as often as you can! Makes sense to me!

that idea occured to me too 👍 but my friends are in japan right now too, I don't know if I'll be missing out on great times with them, I know either way I'll regret it, but japan's not going anywhere right? still, it's not cheap to drop everything and fly halfway across the world

I'd throw my vote in for school. Perhaps there's a school you're interested in that might have ties with a school in Japan.

why don't I go to canada, take a electricians course or something and get my english degree, then come back to japan and actually become employable? right now I'm too young and have not enough credentials, so I think it's a great idea! :p

I agree. And I am glad you came up with an solution I can admire all on your own. It has been a terrible strain on me to keep from making some rather snide remarks on this.

haha thanks for refraining, lately I've checked out the weekend web feature on something awful, it's a collection of some pretty dumb message board people, and one of them actually asked if she should have a child or not, and the poll included on the board was going to act as her conscience. I'm just really upset that I have to go back, and I guess I was looking for someone to help me with some of the pros and cons, and you guys did, thanks alot! 🕺
