Data Recovery

I'm on the edge of losing 40Gigs of pictures and music!!

While I was formatting my computer I didn't noticed that my external hard drive was still connected so now when I try to get my stuff it says: The E drive is not formatted. Do you want to format it? Hell no!

So I called customer support for help and they told me to get a "data recovery" program. The guy told me I could find one for free off the net.

I couldn't find any, and I don't understand much about it all. So if anyone could help me out I would appreciate it!

I've used Winternals Adminstrators Pak in the past with success. I accidentally deleted a partition on an external drive when installing a copy of Windows. Managed to rescue all the data from the drive.

It costs a lot to buy, but I'm sure an enterprising individual could find someone with a copy.

You can recover the files with a software called file scavenger, that is as long as you haven't written on the partition yet...
