Ok, I'm reading a manga and I come across this part that a six year old could most likely easily decipher, yet I'm struggling pretty hard with it. It's from the second issue of Dragon Ball, and here it is:
「悪魔の帝王とよばれムチャクチャ恐れられている牛魔王が悟空ののっている筋斗雲をみて」
Now to focus on the parts I don't get:
1.悪魔の帝王とよばれ
Why the stem form here for 呼ばれる? Is it and adjectival phrase or what?
2.ムチャクチャ恐れられている
There is no particle here to denote how ムチャクチャ is being used. I'm guessing as an adverb, but I'm not sure at all.
Here is a key to the names for those of you that have never read this cool manga (or seen the show):
悟空(ごくう): Goku
牛魔王(ぎゅうまおう): Ox King
筋斗雲(きんとうん): Nimbus --a cloud Goku rides around on.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff
