Concerning 現場に急行

Hi everyone! I'm having some troubles trying to figure what 現場に急行 means, I know what 現場に急行する means, but 現場に急行 is a mystery to me, like in the following sentence:
「私は直ちに会議を中断して現場に急行」
The last part doesn't make so much sense to me, I'd appreciate to hear your thoughts on this, thank you.

Since 現場 means scene, like of an accident, and 急行 means moving at a high speed.

My guess would be:
-Speeding to the scene of an accident.
-Getting to the scene quickly.

Do any of those make sense to you? Just a guess.

Here is my guess for the whole sentence:
-I sped to the scene immediately to interrupt the meeting.
-I interrupted the meeting and immediately sped to the scene of the crime.

Wait for someone more knowledgeable to answer this for you. I'm just trying to get some practice haha.

Well, that'd be 現場に急行する, not 現場に急行, that's the main problem, the latter isn't even a verb, as far as I can tell. But 現場に急行する does mean what you said, it's a different story though

The same meaning. "した" is simply omitted. It's often used in a dairy, for taking a note, or for continuing the sentence.

私は直ちに会議を中断して現場に急行
事態を処理
昼食
会議を続行

or

私は直ちに会議を中断して現場に急行、その後現場を指揮した。 (in this case, "し" is omitted.)

I thought so! Thank you for clearing this up. But how would I determine which tense is implied, if する is omitted? Like, in compound sentence, 「どこに行って、現場に急行した」, it's clear that it already happened because of the した in the end of the sentence, but in case した is omitted, then what? I'm sorry if my question seems naive, my grammar knowledge is pathetic. Also thank you for taking time to answer my question!

I can only say "from the context."
e.g.
A boss's words
直ちに現場に急行！ → 直ちに現場に急行せよ！ (the imperative form)

However, when "する" (or its conjugaton like "し", "して",) can be omitted in a compound sentence, the tence depends on the main clause most in the case.

事態が変わったら直ちに現場に急行、指揮を執る。 (future)
事態が変わったので直ちに現場に急行、指揮を執った。(past)
("し/して" is omitted in both sentences.)

Just to note this on the side, 現場 is only for the site of extraordinary events -- accidents, crimes, natural disasters or the like -- IF you strictly follow the dictionary definition.

But in reality you will find not infrequent uses similar to "place" or "spot."

She's already at the "genba" (restaurant, for instance, any prearranged meeting point). Or 教育現場 (educational site), which I heard a few minutes ago on the news and prompted this post...

About 教育現場 , it is used to point collectively to anywhere where academic education takes place (meaning schools in general). This usage is one of the things that's a bit difficult to explain in English. Maybe, it has been translated into something like "the school education front line"?? Or "where education is in action"??
This originates from the basic meaning of "genba" as a place where something has occurred or some kind of activity is in progress.
