I feel dumb for bringing up yet another trivial matter, but I'm a curious person. Is there any reason that the clock always displays one time zone before the one you have selected? Example: I choose GMT -5 (my time zone), and it shows up GMT -4 at the bottom of the page. I tried -3, and it showed up -2. I know the simple solution would be to just choose GMT -6, but like I said, I'm curious. ^.^

-scratches head- Now that I take the time and look...the times are just messed up in general. GMT -4 displays the closest time to what it should be here (about twenty minutes off), though I'm in -5. It's just...weird.

i don't think they take into account daylight savings, which would explain the one hour off.

Well I could see if that was the case, but when I have GMT -5 selected, it actually says at the bottom of the page that it is displaying GMT -4 time.

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 21:40.

My wall clock says 9:58 (21:58).

The funny thing is that even though it's displaying a time zone that should be an hour ahead me, it is in fact twenty minutes behind my actual time. That taken into account, if it was displaying my correct time zone, it would be forty minutes fast.

Confusing enough for ya? :p

That's nothing new... it's that way as long as I can remember.
I have to select Gmt+2 to get a time near my actual time, even though it should be Gmt+1.
Even then, it's still about 20 minutes behind...

Server time is JST. However, as you may have noticed, the server time lags about 30 mins behind. Will change on the new box we are going to move to soon. I have just enabled the "Daylight Savings" option for guests (should not have any effect on registered users):

If Daylight Savings Time is currently in effect for the above time zone, enable this option so that guests will see the correct times on posts and events. This has no effect on registered users as they control their DST options in the User CP.

So...in reality...I have the correct time displayed. It just says -4 instead of -5 for some reason.

I'm really glad we got to the bottom of this debacle.
