Help Character identification

Konichiwa! Can someone please help me in identifying these characters? One is on a square shaped dragon plate backstamped with characters, and I am not sure what the other is. Its od silver metal and has a lid. Looks very old. Thanks so much!

The second one is 栄製
The first is ？山庫

Both are held upside-down.

The reading appears to be Kozangama.

This is what the Kanji reads on the metal jar? Are you familiar with this name or label? Does this piece appear to be antique? Is this piece called a Koro, or incense holder? Thanks so much

No (to your first question). The "first" one is the plate. (Because that is the item whose picture appears first in your original post.)

I am unable to answer your other questions. You may have to go elsewhere (such as a site specializing in antiques), unless another contributor to this forum has helpful information.

So you dont know if its an incense holder?

Seems like it could be, but I don't know.

This is a forum about Japan in general, not Antiques Roadshow.

If someone else on here has useful knowledge, they will answer.

I thank you for your input. And I know what this is. I know where I am. I know that this is NOT Antiques Roadshow. This item is Japanese, so this is where I came to inquire about it. I thought someone might know. Instead I get rude comments. If you dont want to answer, dont. If you dont know, dont answer. Especially with unnecessary and condescending comments that discredit and belittle others. Completely unnecessary. That would be most appreciated.

I think he was quite restrained considering he had already told you very politely he was unable to answer whether it is an incense holder or not, and you came right back and ask him if he didn't know if it is an incense holder.

You want politeness? Start off by showing the courtesy of reading and understanding the answers you get. Quit acting so entitled to answers you want/like. We're all doing this for free and to the best of our limited abilities and knowledge. Just because this is a Japan related forum doesn't mean we know every damned thing about every knick knack ever made in Japan.

Mike addressed this comment perfectly well, so I have nothing more to add.

As it turns out, though, I did one more search online, and have probably solved the mystery. The item appears to be a container for holding tea.

On an online auction site, I found a very similar item, which has the same company seal on the underside. You can see it here: 【榮製錫製四君子文胴紐茶壺】煎茶道具錫器茶器茶入茶心壺 /【Buyee】 "Buyee" Japan Shopping Service | Buy from Yahoo! Buy from Japan!

The person selling the item identified it as a tea urn, so that's highly likely what your item is, as well.
