Chanko Nabe

I'd try any of the Japanese Restaurants in La Jolla. Chanko nabe is just a nabe dish with lots of veggies. The sumo guys eat with rice. Regular nabe is eaten with rice or noodles simmered in the leftover broth at the end.

It's easy to cook yourself after you prepare the ingredients. Recipe with photos shown at this site:

Here's a video of a foreigner preparing chanko nabe for sumo wrestlers. This guy, Nathan, is way fluent in Japanese. 👍
